Woody’s Lunch Box: A Heartwarming Taste of Home at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney World offers a wide variety of exciting and unusual restaurants and cuisines that are definitely worth exploring. However, sometimes when you’re on vacation, you may find yourself craving something a bit more familiar. After trying all that is new and exotic, a taste of home or a comfort dish may be just what you need – and thankfully, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has an answer for this in the shape of Woody’s Lunch Box.
Created to represent the famous Toy Story franchise, Woody’s Lunch Box is a walk-up window service restaurant located in Hollywood Studios. Offering a variety of American comfort food with a twist (including extra cheesy grilled cheese!), Woody’s Lunch Box is the only restaurant in Toy Story Land. It also happens to be the perfect destination for those days when you just might be craving a bit of home sweet home. After all, home is where your toys are.
With colorful outdoor seating, giant strings of light hung from above, and Toy Story relics spread throughout, Woody’s Lunch Box provides a playful and inviting environment that is sure to draw you in and keep you coming back for more!
A Playful Backyard Restaurant
Toy Story Land is known for its magical ability to “shrink” guests down to the size of toys. And the same holds true for its one and only restaurant, Woody’s Lunch Box. Offering a toy-sized perspective of a child’s backyard, the restaurant is playfully set up to mimic a scene right out of the Toy Story movie. It’s as if Andy has left his toys outside after playing in a restaurant with Woody and the gang. Once he leaves, Woody springs into action and sets up an actual restaurant that you, as a “toy guest,” are able to experience.
When you enter this backyard restaurant, the first thing you’ll probably notice is that Woody’s Lunch Box is set up to look just like its namesake – a lunch box. It’s as if Andy has tipped over his lunch box to reveal its contents for all to see. There’s the Tupperware that serves as the ordering window, the juice box that lists the restaurant’s menu, and the thermos that props up the lid to provide shade and cover. This is all surrounded by life-size cookies, celery sticks, animal crackers, and chunks of cheese.
Then there’s the seating area itself, which is set up as a picnic spot with bright, colorful chairs, tables, and umbrellas spread throughout the yard. You’ll be able to spot several toys scattered amongst the tables, including building blocks, game board pieces, letter cubes, and army men climbing around on the lookout for Andy. It’s a fun, creative, one-of-a-kind restaurant that you won’t be able to find anywhere else.
Playful Menu Options
Comforting Entrées
With a focus on comfort food, Woody’s Lunch Box features a variety of meals that just might remind you of those that you grew up eating. Offering several types of sandwiches and the deliciously unique “Totchos,” Woody’s is the perfect destination for your afternoon (or late night) cravings!
For those in search of the ultimate comfort meal, we recommend ordering the Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich. Stacked between grilled sourdough bread, this sandwich is filled with savory layers of provolone, cheddar, and American cheese. (That’s almost as cheesy as my jokes!)
If you prefer something with a bit more meat, then consider ordering the BBQ Brisket Melt. This sourdough sandwich comes with shredded smoked brisket, pickles, barbecue sauce, melted cheddar, and Monterey jack cheese. Fit for a cowboy, it’s undoubtedly one of the most popular items on the menu!
For a meal that truly belongs in a lunch box, give the Smoked Turkey Sandwich a go. Served on sunflower multigrain bread, this sandwich is filled with thick-sliced smoked turkey breast, tomato, lettuce, and a mix of dijon mustard with mayonnaise.
And last but certainly not least, there’s the ever-famous “Totchos,” a creative culinary creation that combines tater tots with nachos for a one-of-a-kind experience. Using corn chips and potato barrels (aka tater tots) as the base, this dish comes piled with layers of beef and bean chili, shredded cheese, Queso dip with tomatoes, sour cream, and a sprinkling of green onions. It’s just as delicious as it sounds – and it can only be found at Woody’s Lunch Box, so we definitely recommend ordering it on your next visit!
For those who may have dietary restrictions, Woody’s Lunch Box can also alter their entrees to accommodate the following needs: gluten or wheat allergies, egg allergies, fish and shellfish allergies, milk allergies, peanut or tree nut allergies, soy allergies, and plant-based restrictions. Lunch Box Tarts
Every good lunch box includes dessert, and (thankfully) the same applies at Woody’s Lunch Box. Offering gourmet Pop-Tart-like pastries full of gooey deliciousness, these tarts are not to be missed! With three flavors to choose from, there’s sure to be something to satisfy your sweet cravings!
For a chocolatey good time, we recommend giving the Chocolate-Hazelnut Lunch Box Tart a try. This pastry is stuffed with chocolate hazelnut filling and coated in maple icing with candied bacon sprinkled on top. Its unique combination of chocolate and breakfast flavors makes for a surprisingly delicious snack.
If you prefer your pop-tarts more on the fruity side, consider ordering the Lemon-Blueberry Lunch Box Tart. This pastry is a bit more tangy with its blueberry filling, blueberry frosting, and lemon-flavored candied toppings. Another great option is the Raspberry Lunch Box Tart. Coated with strawberry icing and crispy pearls, this pastry comes filled with raspberry marmalade.
Woody’s Lunch Box also releases seasonal flavors of their lunch box tarts, especially around the holidays, so be on the lookout for new and exciting flavors throughout the year!
Boozy Beverages
While alcohol isn’t something you’d typically find in a lunch box, Woody’s does offer a variety of boozy beverages that pair perfectly with their delicious comfort food. And the most popular drink on that menu (that goes with just about every entrée) is the Grown-Up’s Lemonade. Consisting of cherry vodka, lemonade, and black cherry puree, this refreshing drink is just what you’ll want on a hot, sunny day.
But if lemonade isn’t your favorite, they also offer beer and hard cider on draft. You can choose from Blue Moon Belgian White Ale, Bud Light Lager, and Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Hard Cider. Any of these options will work as wonderful compliments to your meal.
Souvenir Specialities
If you’d like to take a piece of Woody’s Lunch Box home with you, there are Alien Sipper cups that you can purchase. These clear drink containers portray the claw machine scene from the Toy Story movie. They feature miniature aliens sitting at the bottom of the cup with tiny claws hanging above them. On the outside of the cup, you’ll find the famous saying, “OOOOOH THE CLAAWWWW,” along with the Toy Story Land logo. You’ll be eternally grateful to have this souvenir.
You can either purchase these souvenir sippers as is or request that they be filled up with a beverage of your choice. If you choose to fill yours up, we recommend giving the Frozen Mystic Portal Punch a try. This drink consists of Powerade Mountain Berry Blast mixed with lemon-lime and tangerine flavors. Or, if that sounds a bit too intense, there’s also an assortment of Coca-Cola drinks you can choose from.
