12 Stunning Disney World Photo Spots In Hollywood Studios To Bring Your Hollywood Dreams To Life

Blending Old Hollywood’s glamour with the most innovative technology of current filmmaking, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a park built on movie magic. Since its opening in 1989, Hollywood Studios has been letting folks live that movie magic thanks to immersive rides and iconic sets. And what better way to bring some of that magic home than finding the perfect Disney’s Hollywood Studios photo spots to brighten your day – and your Instagram feed?

With the induction of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land into Hollywood Studios, there are even more fun and transportive photo-ops to take part in! In fact, these new areas have some of the most exciting Instagram spots for your next Hollywood Studios trip. While we’ve made sure to include some of the most popular spots, we’ve also thrown in a few locales as well as a few of our favorite Hollywood Studios Instagram captions that are sure to add a little bit of charm and originality to your pictures!

Buzz Lightyear - Disney's Hollywood Studios

12 – Hollywood Boulevard

Walking down Hollywood Studios Hollywood Boulevard – the park’s hub – is a blast from the past.  You’ll pass building fronts, shops, props, and costumed cast members, bringing you back to the feel of Old Hollywood. There are some great Hollywood Studios spots to snag a photo, too. From retro-style gas station pumps, old boulevard billboards, and vintage neon signs, you can find every little bit of glitz and pizazz of an older era on the streets. Pop on a pair of oversized shades and strike your best pose for that vintage-inspired Instagram shoot.

If you hit up this area just as Hollywood Studios opens, you’ll typically find it uncrowded as most guests are rushing to Toy Story Land or Galaxy’s Edge.

Need a caption to capture the feel of the Golden Age? Try one of these Hollywood Studios’ Instagram captions…

  • “Made it, Ma! Top of the world!” -James Cagney, White Heat (1949)
  • “Here’s lookin’ at you, kid.” -Humphrey Bogart, Casablanca (1942)
  • “Hollywood isn’t a place. It’s a way of life.” -Unknown

11 – Aerosmith’s Guitar

Who doesn’t love a little rock’n’roll? Even if you aren’t a fan of Aerosmith (which feels a little like sacrilege,  but you do), you’ll get a kick out of the sheer size of this Fender Strat planted in front of the iconic attraction. It’s one of Hollywood Studios’ most iconic photo spots! You can find this massive guitar right out front of the Aerosmith Rock’n’Roller Coaster as you enter or exit the queue. Even if you aren’t visiting the coaster, you can’t miss it if you’re heading anywhere near the area.

Caption this rockin’ selfie with your favorite Aerosmith song title or lyrics! Like…

  • “Walk This Way!”
  • “Dream On!”

Or simply say that being here gives you a “Sweet Emotion”!

10 -The Pixar (Luxo) Ball

While you’ll find plenty of Pixar-related spots on this list, nothing is more iconic than the bright, cheerful Luxo Ball that greets you in the center of Toy Story Land. This entire area is themed to be part of Andy’s backyard, and so as you enter, you are “shrunk” down to the size of Woody and the gang.

There are plenty of oversized props and backdrops to explore that are sure to ignite the imagination of everyone’s inner child. The Pixar Ball is a prime photo spot at Hollywood Studios, especially if you splurged on a pair of appropriately themed ears for the occasion! (And don’t forget to tag it – #pixarwall) It’s also one of the few features without a  railing around it, ensuring that you can get up close for some creative shots!

Is “Having a ball in Toy Story Land!” too cheesy to use as a caption?

9 – Gertie the Dinosaur

While the Echo Lake portion of Hollywood Studios is known for some of the best food options, it’s not without a few fun features that are perfect for more unique photo backgrounds, especially if you’re looking for something not quite so popular. One of them happens a distinctive green dinosaur rising from the lake itself. Gertie is an homage to the earliest animated film to have a dinosaur (Gertie the Dinosaur, 1914) and can be easily found as you stroll around the lake.

She even dresses up for the holidays, making for a festive backdrop during certain times of the year. The dino doubles as a seasonal ice cream shop, too!

Give your pic with Gertie a dino-mite caption with one of these quotes!

  • “Dinosaurs may be extinct from the face of the planet, but they are alive and well in our imaginations.” -Steve Miller
  • “Always be yourself. Unless you can be a dinosaur. Then always be a dinosaur!”
  • Welcome to Jurassic Park.”

8 – The Muppet Splatter Wall

Grand Park (formerly known as the Muppet Courtyard) is one of the secret photo spots in Disney World. It’s also great for some quirky backdrops filled with ridiculous props or nice nods to the Muppet franchise. The easiest one to find is the Splatter Wall! If you don’t want to include the giant statue of Kermit (but why wouldn’t you?), the bright paint splatters, unorthodox messages, and simplistic murals make a  playful, colorful background for your Instagram. It’s a whole lot of delightful chaos that you definitely shouldn’t miss!

This spot is along the backside of the Muppet Gift Shop (which you’ll find easily after exiting the Muppet Vision 3D theater).

Caption your Muppet photo with something like this…

  • It’s time to play the music, it’s time to light the lights; It’s time to meet the Muppets on the Muppet Show tonight!” (Muppet Show Theme Song)
  • It’s not easy being green.” -Kermit the Frog
  • “Life’s like a movie. Write your own ending.” -Kermit the Frog
  • “I don’t care what you think of me, unless you think I’m awesome. In which case you are right.” -Miss Piggy

7 – Andy’s Wall

Did you think you’d make it very far without one of the famous walls of Disney? We didn’t think so! This creative spot is over in Toy Story Land, and we’ve dubbed it Andy’s Wall because it’s covered in giant, adorable crayon drawings and his name in giant block letters.

This one is back behind the Toy Story-themed bathrooms in the land. You may have to take a little trek to find it, but that works to your advantage if you can find it uncrowded during a busy park day!

I’d caption this snapshot with, “You’ve got a friend in me!”

6 – “Once Upon A Time” Marquee

While we’ve pointed out Sunset Boulevard already, this one deserves its very own mention. At the end of the street, there’s a Carthay Circle Theater’s recreation (a Hollywood staple in the 1930s), home to the Once Upon A Time Shop. Outside, the marquee bears the letters over the entrance—this marquee, combined with the iconic old Hollywood architecture, makes for a fanciful photo backdrop.

There are few things more Disney than that whimsical fairytale beginning. This makes it a great spot to show off any fairytale-themed mouse ears or a vintage-inspired princess Disneybound

Your caption could be as simple as “Once upon a time….” or as profound as this Theodore Roosevelt quote: “Keep your eyes on the stars and your feet on the ground.” Great line and great advice!

5 – Han & Leia’s Wall

If you’re a Star Wars fan, you’ll know the iconic scene where Han Solo and Princess Leia share their first kiss in Empire Strikes Back (right before their ill-fated trip to Cloud City). Now, thanks to the magic of  Imagineers, you and your space beau can recreate the scene for yourselves in this recreation of that nook on Han’s ship! Come on. You know you’ve always wanted to kiss a scruffy-looking nerf herder! You can find this wall as you exit the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride in Galaxy’s Edge.

I think the caption for this photo-op is pretty obvious…

“I love you.”

“I know.”

4 – Batuu Market

The most immersive land in Hollywood Studios by far, Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge transports you to the backwater planet of Batuu, where the First Order hunts for the Resistance. The overhead lighting combined with the canopy allows for just enough sunlight to come through to create some authentic atmospheric lighting.

There are a dozen nooks and crannies to explore as you spend some time shopping – or just popping in to get yourself a Ronto Wrap (which you won’t regret) – in this market square. If you’re trying out your new Batuu-bound (or just wielding your new lightsaber from Saavi’s), you should not miss the opportunity to find the perfect corner to transport yourself to a galaxy far, far away.

Caption your photo with the reason you’re in Batuu Market – maybe you’re there to snack on some Mantell Mix or to get some power converters!

3 – Popsicle Stick Wall

A brand-new fan favorite for Disney Instagrammers, this adorable new feature in Toy Story Land has caught the attention of anyone who loves those Disney walls! (Check out #popsiclestickwall to see how popular it’s become already!) These pastel-hued “popsicle sticks” form a fence at the exit of Toy Story Mania. They are a colorful addition to the land’s theming and make an excellent backdrop for a sunny summer Instagram photo.

3 – The Chinese Theater

This one is a classic! Previously home to The Great Movie Ride (RIP, you will be missed) and now newly renovated into Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, the attraction building mimics the Grauman’s  Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles. It’s also been a centerpiece of the park since it opened in 1989.

The new theming of the theater’s front façade does offer a much more classic look, especially if you’re looking for something directly referencing the Mouse himself. It’s a cute nod to Mickey Mouse’s enduring legacy in Hollywood. If you’re so inclined to sit or kneel, you can also grab a photo with Mickey’s handprint and signature combo immortalized in a cement square in front of the building.

Channel Walt Disney himself for your caption with this quote: “I only hope that we never lose sight of one thing—that it was all started by a mouse.”

1 -The Millennium Falcon

Are you surprised this is our top pick? Who doesn’t want a photograph with the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy? You don’t have to be a Star Wars fan to appreciate this iconic spaceship in all its glory. If you’re visiting Galaxy’s Edge, you cannot miss the Falcon outside Smuggler’s Run. If you want a less formulaic shot, try posing up near the entrance of Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo! You might find a better  (and less crowded) angle from the longer distance.

Feel free to caption your pic with one of these iconic quotes from the Star Wars saga!

  • “What a piece of junk!” -Luke Skywalker, A New Hope
  • “You came in that thing? You’re braver than I thought.” -Princess Leia, A New Hope
  • “That ship is garbage! …garbage will do!” -Rey, The Force Awakens

While we’ve picked out some of our most iconic spots in the park, Hollywood Studios is constantly changing, adding new attractions, renovating old ones, and bringing a little more of that movie magic to our day. That means there are plenty of photo ops we didn’t cover in this list. So let us know – what did we miss from your favorite Instagram spots?
