Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo at Disney’s Hollywood Studio in Walt Disney World – Out of this World Flavors in an Immersive Setting

Spending the day at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge always gets our imaginations going, and we certainly don’t want the adventure to stop just because it’s time to break for lunch. We want a restaurant that keeps the intergalactic story going! That’s why when the hunger pangs hit, we head to Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Unconventional Eats in an Unconventional Setting

This restaurant is housed in a working hangar bay. You wouldn’t normally think of a docking bay and workshop as a particularly hospitable location to grab a meal, but it works so well for the fun, backwater setting of Batuu. The décor is totally on point – rustic and industrial in that ever-so-distinctive Star Wars way. It’s just part of what makes this the perfect place for hungry travelers to fuel up for the rest of their galactic adventures!

Whether you want a great meal at a light-speed pace or would rather kick up your feet and relax with a Moof Juice (we’ll explain that later), this quick-service spot is the perfect place to prepare your taste buds for takeoff.

Even Restaurants Have Stories…

Chef Strono “Cookie” Tuggs of Docking Bay 7 docked a food freight ship full of fresh supplies right outside. All he needs is to find some visitors and locals ready and hungry to try his new creations. He offers up an array of eclectic offerings thanks to his planet-hopping experiences. He’s tried flavors from all over the galaxy, so he’s uniquely equipped to make unusual concoctions that will delight your whole group.

That means everything on the menu at Docking Bay 7 is delicious, and nothing is boring. Every dish is a little bit unique, bringing fresh twists to flavors you’ll get to know and love. Forget familiar – this is adventure food!

Walk in, place your order (or order on mobile), and sit inside the hangar or take a seat in the outdoor area in the shadow of the old marketplace’s crumbling walls. You’re in for a treat that’s out of this world!

The Menu

One of our favorite things about this lunch and dinner menu is that every item has uniquely eye-catching plating. The colorful, high-contrast presentation pops against the single-serve skillets and distinctive black and gray bowls the food is served in. You can tell each dish is crafted to match the immersive décor and theming, which further adds to the experience. It gives the entire meal a quality of feeling a little bit exotic, much like a trip through space.

Entrees

You’ve spent your entire life watching Star Wars and immersing yourself in the fantasy world. Now you can finally taste the flavors from the movies, TV shows, games, and books!

Sample the Batuuan crispy topato and beef stir-fry – braised beef in a tamarind sauce alongside stir-fried vegetables, mushrooms, crispy herbed yucca, cilantro, and pickled onions to add a touch of funk.

Or try the Peke tuna poke with succulent raw tuna tossed in a spicy sriracha dressing. What really makes this dish special is the side salad – green papaya, fresh herbs, pickled mushrooms, and crisped garlic for crunch.

You can also finally try the flavors from the Mandalorian with the Pirjanad hot chicken tip yip. (Not to be confused with “yip yip.” That’s Avatar the Last Airbender and a different fandom altogether.) This crispy chicken dish features a chipotle glaze and white rice flavored with sweet corn, crunchy jicama, shishito pepper, sweet plantain, and fresh cilantro relish.

Going plant-based (even just for the day)? The Felucian kefta and hummus garden spread will convert even the most dedicated carnivore. Plant-based meatballs, tomato and cucumber relish, and charred pita bread for dipping and scooping come nestled in an herbed hummus doused in a spritzing of fresh, fragrant olive oil. It’s hearty and light at the same time.

The Ronto Roaster Specialty

Docking Bay 7’s specialty is available after 3 pm, so if you want to try what they’re best known for and what they’re most proud of, plan for a late lunch or to stop by for dinner.

The Ronto Roaster Specialty features roasted pork and grilled pork sausage topped with a smoky peppercorn sauce and a tangy slaw – all wrapped in warm pita bread and served with a side of root vegetable chips.

Desserts

The dessert offerings change regularly at Docking Bay 7, so you’ll always want to stop by every so often in order to try whatever eye-catching concoction they’re serving up!

As of writing, it’s the Outpost Puff – a chocolate pastry filled with a chocolate mousse with the kick of spicy guajillo chilis. The puff is finished with a sweet Thai tea panna cotta (sweet but complex), spiced pineapple, and “confectionary debris.” And, of course, it’s delicately and lovingly plated, just like all the desserts at Docking Bay 7. Make sure to take a picture of it for the ‘gram before you dig in!

Drinks

They have plenty of non-alcoholic drinks like fountain drinks, juices, chocolate milk, and more.

Cocktails

Docking Bay 7’s cocktail menu is one area in which the restaurant truly shines. The Moof Juice, which we mentioned before, is one of their specialties, so we recommend trying it if you want the full experience of the restaurant. It’s fruit punch, orange and pineapple juice, and a dash of chipotle powder. It’s sweet, but with a lingering spice that’ll catch you off guard and make you smile.

If sweet and spicy is your thing, but you want something a little more off the wall, try the Surly Sarlacc. It features botanical grapefruit and rose vodka, limeade, raspberry, and spicy mango flavoring. So you get the spicy kick and the floral notes of the rose, along with the slightly bitter grapefruit. It’s a flavor profile you have to try to truly appreciate.

Not everyone loves spicy, in which case you’ll want the Takodana Quencher – dragon berry rum, blue curacao, orange and pineapple juices, and kiwi. We also love the Gold Squadron Lager, which they keep on draft – it has prominent lavender and plum flavors.

Kids Menu

Keeping those younglings well-fed can be a real challenge, especially in a restaurant known for unique flavors that might be off-putting or intimidating for the little ones. That’s why we love the kids’ menu at this place! The dishes are still fun and whimsical, but they’re a bit more approachable for the less adventurous among us.

Your kiddos can enjoy the Ithorian pasta rings, but we really recommend the Takodana veggie dippers. These chilled veggie dippers and multigrain crisps come with a side of “ranch” dressing, black bean hummus, and edible “soil” with nuts. It really captures what Docking Bay 7 is all about. It’s imaginative, it’s fun, and it’s delicious.

For something a little heartier, maybe steer your kid toward the Fried Chicken Tip Yip Youngling Meal. It includes crispy chicken, house-made macaroni and cheese, roasted vegetables, and a choice of water or milk.

Know Before You Go

Keep in mind you need a reservation that includes everyone in your party ages 3 and up!

There’s a lot to love about this place. First, it’s surprisingly cheap – $15 or under for lunch or dinner. And a lot of the menu is allergy-friendly (even more than we’d normally expect at Disney), which we absolutely love to see.

In your opinion, what’s the most iconic Star Wars food item? We’re team “blue milk” over here! Drop a comment and tell us about your personal faves.
