Delicious Vegetarian & Vegan Friendly Dining at Walt Disney World (All 4 Parks + Resorts!)
Disney World is well-known for its culinary delicacies, iconic Mickey-shaped treats, and unique restaurants that can only be found on Disney property. However, not everyone eats the same things. If you’re a vegetarian or vegan, then you probably know what it feels like to be excluded from the menu. Thankfully, at Disney World, you can still enjoy tons of delicious offerings!
And we know exactly where to find the tastiest snacks. In fact, we’ve prepared a full list of the best vegetarian and vegan-friendly dining options at Walt Disney World!
Is Disney World Vegetarian and Vegan Friendly?
Disney World, as a whole, is very vegetarian and vegan-friendly! So whether you’ve always avoided animal products or you’re brand new to the veggie lifestyle, sticking to it shouldn’t be a problem while staying at Disney.
Disney is also very attentive to guests’ food preferences and food allergies. Almost every time you enter a restaurant, the waitstaff will ask about any food restrictions for your party. That’s your perfect opportunity to put in a request for what you need! Go ahead and let them know you’re vegetarian or vegan, and they may even provide you with a special menu!
Even if you don’t receive a special menu, you should still have a significant number of options to choose from. Always look for the green leaf icon next to items on your menu – it means you’re looking at a plant-based option! This is a universal image throughout the menus at WDW locations. You can find it on snack cart menus and listed on the My Disney Experience app, too.
I don’t know about you, but I’m starting to get hungry, so let’s go grab some the best vegetarian food at Disney World! (Keep in mind we are just scratching the surface. Always check for more options at your resorts and restaurants – you just might find something new!)
Quick and Iconic Bites
All Disney World popcorn and Mickey pretzels are always vegan! You’re in great shape if you don’t order cheese with your pretzel.
Additionally, almost every Joffrey’s coffee station, as well as the Starbucks throughout the Disney parks and resorts, will carry almond, coconut, oat, and/or soy milk to add to your drink. All you have to do is ask!
The pineapple flavor of Dole Whip soft serve is always vegan, too, as long as you don’t order the vanilla (which includes doing it as a swirl!).
WDW Resort Dining
We’d love to cover every resort at Disney World, but then we’d be here all day. Instead, we’ll just peek at some of the highlights! (If you’re looking for vegan or vegetarian options at a specific location we haven’t named, simply go to your My Disney Experience app for the menu.)
At Disney’s Contemporary Resort, you’ll find vegan options at Chef Mickey’s, Contempo Café, and Steakhouse 71. Chef Mickey’s has a tofu scramble friendly to both vegans and vegetarians and a must-try chocolate-raspberry tart!
Don’t skip Steakhouse 71’s avocado toast if you choose to dine there. It’s delicious!
The Contempo Café also has a fabulous Kale Power Greens Salad and Grilled Tofu Bowl that are perfect for the plant-based peeps!
At the Gasparilla Island Grill at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, you can find an entirely vegan menu including their impossible burger, potato barrels, and even vegan Mickey waffles! (Score!!)
Citricos (also located in the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa) offers several vegan dishes, including wild mushroom arancini, smoked cauliflower, and an apple rose for dessert!
If you’re looking for fine dining, California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort has a great vegan and vegetarian menu, including pho sushi rolls and tofu steak.
Flying Fish at The Boardwalk has some plant-based culinary delights such as oak-grilled romaine and roasted tofu.
Jiko, known for its South African flavors at Animal Kingdom Lodge, offers a Jiko Salad made with quinoa, an Injera Basket of plant-based stews, and even Tofuttti vegan ice cream and coconut milk-based panna cotta for dessert. Disney dining knows how to do it right for vegans and vegetarians!
And don’t forget, you don’t have to be staying at the resorts to dine there! They are open to the public, so you can enjoy a delish vegan dish without a room key, park ticket, or magic band. All you need to bring is your appetite!
Disney Water Parks
At both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, guests can easily find vegan menus at specific spots like Lottawatta Lodge (please see the impossible burger and bratwurst sandwich).
At Typhoon Lagoon, you’ll find what you’re after at Leaning Palms. Here, you can order vegan pizza, vegetable guacamole dip, a picadillo rice bowl, a vegan wrap, tropical salad, and more.
Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom is filled with plant-based options! Here are just a few of them:
Check out Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café for their Vegetable Rice Bowl and sides for quick service. Try Pinocchio Village Haus for the vegan pizza or Casey’s Corner on Main Street, USA for the plant-based slaw dog!
For table service, guests will be able to find an impressive full menu of vegan options at Cinderella’s Royal Table, including the Royal Avocado Toast for breakfast and Chickpea Panisse for lunch. For dessert, the Coffee Pots de Crème comes highly recommended!
Head to Tony’s Town Square Restaurant if you’re craving vegan spaghetti and meatballs!
And, of course, don’t forget that pineapple Dole Whip!
Hollywood Studios
Just like the real Hollywood, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has tons of vegetarian-friendly and vegan options.
Enjoy some Tomato Risotto at The Hollywood Brown Derby or some fantastic Polenta Cake with mushrooms and herbed cauliflower at Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano.
Enjoy a Soba Noodle Salad Bowl at Fairfax Fare, Plant-Based “Totchos,” or the Toasted “Cheddar” Sandwich at Woody’s Lunch Box.
If you go to The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre Restaurant, you’ll want to try the vegan cookie milkshake!
We also thought it worth mentioning the Milk Stand’s iconic blue and green milk slushies are plant-based, so everyone can get a taste of a galaxy far, far away in Galaxy’s Edge!
Animal Kingdom
At Animal Kingdom, you will have your pick of plant-based options and be exposed to some incredible flavors.
A fan favorite (and rightly so) is Flame Tree BBQ. They have an amazing menu, and you can try an outstanding Hot Link Smokehouse Sandwich for vegans.
At Tusker House, guests can order Jollof Rice with Plant-Based Sausage or a Black-Eyed Pea Salad, among many other picks.
You can also head to Tiffins Restaurant for North African Spiced Tofu and a Tropical Trifle.
Epcot
Epcot is a wonderland for all foodies, including vegetarians and vegans!
Starting off with some obvious locales, if you’re eating plant-based, you’ll want to go to Garden Grill Restaurant for their Rice Pilaf and Garden-fresh Veggies or their House-Made Berry Shortcake.
At Sunshine Seasons, you’ll find a divine plant-based mousse cup!
Once you’re traveling the World Showcase, here are some go-to spots:
- Rose & Crown Pub in The United Kingdom has some classic vegan fish and chips.
- Le Cellier Steakhouse in Canada offers steamed Asian dumplings (vegan) and amazing maple whiskey-glazed brussels sprouts.
- In France, check out L’Artisan des Glaces for vegan sorbet.
- And in Japan, don’t skip the Kakigori shaved ice at Kabuki Café!
There are so many more spots with exceptional vegan and vegetarian-friendly menus throughout the parks and resorts, so you’ll never feel lost finding something to eat, even when holding to a particular diet. Disney World does a great job of caring for its plant-based eaters. What is your favorite vegan-friendly snack that you’ve had on Disney property? Let us know in the comments below!
