The LEGO Store at Disney Springs: Building Fun Memories Brick by Brick
Who doesn’t love LEGOs? For decades, the experience at LEGO stores has given visitors the perfect combination of creativity and nostalgia. And the LEGO store at Disney Springs has the added perk of paying homage to your favorite Disney stories and characters. So it’s the perfect crowd-pleaser, an ideal compromise between kid-friendly fun and engaging nostalgia for adults.
That’s exactly why you want to mark it on your must-see list during your trip to Disney Springs. Don’t believe me? Read on and thank us later!
Everything You Love About LEGO and More
Disney Springs set up their LEGO store experience to let every visitor “express their creativity brick by brick while exploring this colossal LEGO dream world,” and we couldn’t sum it up any better than that. It’s not just a LEGO superstore; it’s a giant mecca of imagination and a destination for loads of fun.
Since opening in 1997, the store has only gotten more popular and iconic. Today, you’ll find a tie-in to every conceivable aspect of the LEGO phenomenon. Collectible playsets are on display throughout the store, depicting scenes from your favorite Disney movies and characters. You’ll also pass by oversized LEGO models of your favorite characters. And there’s always a selection of interactive activities to choose from. It’s the perfect pit-stop to inject a bit of fun and creativity into your trip.
LEGO Your Way
No matter how you like your LEGO experience, you’ll find it here. It’s designed not just to be a place to buy LEGO but to appreciate and enjoy LEGO for everything it is. The experience inside strikes a balance between do-it-yourself and paying homage to your favorite Disney stories.
Take a breather from the rest of your Disney Springs fun and make time to get a little creative, whether you’re young or just young at heart. Let yourself get swept up in a frenzy of color and creativity!
Plan Your Next Masterpiece
We recommend starting at the colorful Pick And Build Wall, but honestly, it’s probably where you’ll gravitate to first anyway. It’s a whole wall of individual LEGO bricks, so you can pick and choose exactly what color and size you want to use to create your next masterpiece. Those old enough to have been around for the beginning of the LEGO craze will remember how satisfying it is to start with individual bricks and create your own masterpiece from scratch. The LEGO store is the perfect place to bring your unique vision to life.
All Your Disney Favorites
If you’re still on a Disney high (and who isn’t?), head to the pre-made LEGO sets on display. Their displays are always changing, but you can count on finding incredibly intricate playsets like the LEGO Death Star and the LEGO Disneyland Train. With all the Minifigures running around the playsets and interacting with each other, there’s always something new to find.
And if a specific set captures your heart, it’s right there for you to buy and take home. We can’t think of a better Disney Springs souvenir than a LEGO set. It will remind you of your experience at the store and the rest of Disney Springs – not to mention you’ll get the fun of putting it together and displaying it at home.
Find Your Favorite Character in LEGO Form
One of the most iconic parts of LEGO is its Minifigures. At the LEGO store, you’ll find a staggering selection of cute Minifigures of your favorite Disney characters to take home with you. Collect every Minifigure in your favorite series or mix and match your favorites! You can generally find them in keychain form as well, which makes for an adorable (and practical) souvenir that lets you carry around your favorite characters everywhere you go.
Make Your Own Minifigure
The LEGO store recently expanded on its Minifigure selection and created the Disney Springs LEGO Minifigure Factory. So if you’ve ever wanted to design your own completely customized Minifigure, this is your chance!
Start with choosing your torso template – which will be a lot harder than it sounds because you’ll have over 150 to choose from. Next, get down to the nitty-gritty while you make it your own. Use a selection of different “brushes” to finger paint directly on the Minifigure to add your personal touch. You can even add preset icons, emojis, and text.
This is a perfect option if you can’t find your favorite character in their wide selection (although you’ll probably be able to), want to make a LEGO Minifigure of yourself or someone you know, or just want to play around and see what kind of wild character you can create. This is the only place in North America where you can do this, so it’s definitely a can’t-miss stop while you’re there. So please stick around and play with it for a while. Let yourself get carried away!
A Never-Ending Rotation of Things to See
One of the best things about the Disney Springs LEGO Store is that it’s always changing. The playsets on display rotate constantly, so you always want to stop by when you’re in the area to see what you can find.
Depending on when you visit, you’ll also find different hands-on and building activities like a build-your-own LEGO racecar station. You can expect to find something completely to do new every time you go.
They also regularly switch out the figures and displays. One day you might find Fantasia Mickey, full Star Wars displays, and all your favorite Frozen characters. On the next visit, you might see a completely different assortment. They’re all about keeping it fresh to keep the magic alive.
The Perfect Instagram-Worthy Moment
Of course, every trip has the added question, “where will I take the perfect picture to post on Instagram?” The LEGO Store knows visitors want to share their experience with the world. That’s why they position photo ops all around the store featuring Disney characters, murals, and LEGO statues like Brickley the sea serpent, one of Disney Springs’ biggest icons. Some of them are positioned outside the store as well.
We can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon in the sun at Disney Springs than to hunt for all the LEGO monuments you can find. And make sure to tag your posts with #LEGO and #DisneySprings to show the world how much fun you’re having!
Whether you’re traveling with kids or a gaggle of young-at-heart adults, the LEGO Store at Disney Springs is a must-see stop during your trip.
