Not only is it a fantastic place to take the kiddos, but their theme parks can also be a fantastic destination for an adults-only getaway for you and your significant other (or with your grown-up BFFs).

With so many fun and magical things to discover and enjoy, visiting Disney World as an adult will give you an entirely new perspective. So whether you’re looking for adventures and thrills, or perhaps, want to be pampered and to relax, their theme parks and resorts are definitely the places you will want to consider visiting when planning your amazing adults-only getaway to Orlando. Now, let’s dive in and learn more about some of the magical experiences you can expect during your adults-only getaway at Disney World.

Experience Disney World’s Parks

• You can try any (or all) the parks you want when you’re on an adults-only getaway to Disney World! Maybe you’re interested in all the animals, so Animal Kingdom is the perfect spot. What if you want to experience the cultures of the world, then head over EPCOT. Honestly, we recommend that you research all four parks and what each one has to offer rather than just the one or two that you think are most interested in. We bet you will be pleasantly surprised and delighted by what you discover.

Buckle Up and Enjoy the Ride!

• When you visit Disney World with little ones, you have to default to age-appropriate, kid-friendly rides automatically. However, when it’s an adults-only getaway, you can enjoy all the thrill-seeking and speedy rides your heart truly desires. So take on Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain at the Magic Kingdom. Scream your head off on the Tower of Terror and Rock N’ Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios. Feel free to indulge your need for speed at Test Track in EPCOT. With so many thrilling rides to enjoy, you’ll be so glad you did! 
• Or choose to be a kid again! And why not?!? Relive all of the classic rides you loved as a child. So hop on board and sing along with the children of nations at It’s a Small World. Take a fantastical, wild spin in the Teacups. (Or why not both!) While you are running around the parks, don’t forget to stop, meet and greet, take pictures with, and get autographs from all of your favorite Disney characters. All of these restaurants are absolutely top-notch and offer delicious and tantalizing cuisine (no chicken nuggets for you here, I promise). We personally recommend visiting Narcoossee’s at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs for an elevated dining experience. If a five-diamond dining experience is what you are looking for, Victoria and Alberts most definitely should be put on your must-visit, must-do list. At Walt Disney World, the dining experiences and selections are limitless.
• Epcot Wine + Food Festival – During this annual festival, EPCOT guests are encouraged to take culinary journeys, one food kitchen at a time. Feel free to indulge your pallet with international-inspired cocktails and gourmet takes on traditional food from all around the globe. So grab your significant other (or your BFFs) by the hand and walk (or run) from France to Mexico to Japan to Canada and everywhere else in between.

Make Time for Pampering and Relaxation

So you’re heading to Disney World and have decided that you want to spend a little time being pampered and spoiled. With all of the fabulous hotels, great poolside bars, and luxurious spas, an adults-only getaway to Disney World will check these boxes as well!

• Enjoy Luxurious Accommodations – When you’re traveling adults-only, you can feel free to splurge on posh accommodations. While the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian Village Resort may not be within everyone’s budget with the family in tow, it’s definitely a thing to do splurge when it’s only the two of you. Take time to soak in the ambiance of your chosen resort, sip a cocktail (or two) in the lobby or poolside bar, take a breath and just chill.
• Indulge in a Luxury Spa Treatment – Is there any better way to feel pampered and relaxed than to have a pampering spa treatment? Go ahead and schedule an appointment at either The Grand Floridian, Walt Disney World Dolphin, or Saratoga Springs resorts for relaxing full-body massages or soothing facial. Feel the worries of the world melt away. You’ll be glad you did.

• Lounge by the Pool – One of the best ways to relax and unwind on your fabulous Disney World vacation is to enjoy one of the many gorgeous pools located at one of Disney’s many luxurious resorts. While it may be tempting to rush off and explore the theme parks’ many thrill rides and attractions, there is just something to be said about sipping a cool refreshing summery cocktail under the shade of a palm tree in the Florida sun!
• Sip Your Way Through Disney  – There are plenty of places for adults to find beverages of an adult nature at Disney. While at EPCOT, sip on a cocktail (Yes, please!) and enjoy the delights of France, Morocco, or Italy. Or grab a cocktail from a poolside bar at Disney’s Contemporary, Grand Floridian, or Polynesian Resorts.

Our Recommendations for Your Adults-Only Getaway

• Enjoy your visit – Before visiting Disney World’s resort, you really need to think about what you want to get out of your adults-only getaway. Take some time and plan for what is really important to you. Also, don’t over-plan your time during your vacation stay. Whether it’s riding all of Disney World’s thrilling rides, taking the time to embrace your inner child, or just spending time relaxing poolside, take the time to drink in and savor your moment. After all, it’s your vacation. Just do it!
• Use the “Single Rider Line” – If the lines are super long and the park is really busy, please don’t feel funny about using the single rider line! You really want to (I mean, you really, really want to) ride Expedition Everest, but your spouse wants to find someplace to relax and get a cold beverage. So ok, let them! Using the single rider line will allow you to skip the normal, really long queue wait time. You can meet up with them afterward (and will probably find a cold beverage waiting for you, too!).
• Skip the Parades – Unless the crush of a crowd is totally your thing, skip the parades whenever possible. These Disney World activities are very family-centric. Instead, take advantage of this time (and the much shorter queue wait times) to go on some of the more popular rides while everyone is waiting to see the parade (Hey, you mentioned you wanted to ride Expedition Everest again. Let’s go!).
• Relish in the Night Life – Take a stroll down the Boardwalk and catch the dueling piano show at Jelly Rolls. Maybe, head over to Disney Springs for a few drinks and enjoy some live entertainment at the House of Blues. It’s your vacation. Indulge yourself!
