Mythos is Universal Studios: Island’s of Adventures’ award-winning, fine-dining, underwater-themed restaurant. Maybe you’ve heard the hype but find yourself wondering if the legends are true.

What kind of food can you expect at Mythos?
Is it really underwater?
Do I need a wetsuit?!

We’re tackling all these questions and more just for you!

The Legend Behind the Mythos

Mythos offers a wide variety of menu options, all with Mediterranean and American-influenced flavors. The theme inside matches the Mediterranean ambiance, with visuals all throughout the restaurant giving tribute to Greek gods and mythical ancient Greece as a whole.

Anticipate seeing beautiful lighting fixtures hanging from the ceiling as well as impressive carvings populating the walls throughout the restaurant. The rushing waterfalls at the entrance set the tone from the start of the dining experience, giving guests the impression of venturing into a long-lost oceanic world.

But don’t worry, it’s not actually underwater. No wetsuits are needed. However, you’ll truly feel as though you’re dining inside an underwater cave!

Quick FAQs

Are Mythos reservations required? No, but they are strongly recommended to guarantee a spot at this popular Parthenon!

Can you use your Universal Dining Plan at Mythos? Yes!

Is it a kid-friendly menu? It is, indeed! There is a kid’s menu with plenty of choices.

If your kids are under the age of 9, they’ll have their pick of several crowd-pleasing options. First on the menu is a fairly plain penne pasta with a great basic garlic cream sauce, or you could play it safe with pepperoni or cheese pizza, grilled cheese (just regular, nothing fancy!), or a burger. Of course, there’s always the true classic: chicken fingers. However, if your child is more daring with their palette, they might try the beef loin medallions served with green beans and mashed potatoes. Yum!

The overall public opinion is that Mythos is one of Universal’s best dining opportunities.

So, what’s on the Mythos restaurant menu? Let’s discuss some of the tasty highlights!

A Feast Fit for a Minotaur

At Mythos, you’re sure to find something to help curb even the most legendary of appetites!

Start your meal off right with a drink that’s perfectly on-brand for Mythos at Universal. Their alcohol menu offers a large selection of wines and a smaller selection of beers as well. For cocktails, guests have the option of a “Mythos Potion of the Gods,” consisting of Malibu Coconut rum, pineapple juice, and black raspberry liqueur, a “Mythos Cucumber Martini,” an “Immortal Old Fashioned,” or a “Santorini Sunset” among many other creative options.

For starters, order some of the savory Grilled Lamb Meatballs. If you’re gluten-sensitive, check out the Mediterranean Grilled Octopus instead, and if you’re Vegetarian, go with a Mezze Platter of hummus, baba ghanoush, and pita!

We love that Mythos is friendly to diet sensitivities and vegetarians/vegans. Warning, however! For those who are entirely gluten-free, be sure to ask your wait staff if the specific dish you ordered is completely free of gluten. (Sometimes gluten-sensitive doesn’t account for cross-contamination in the kitchen, etc.)

Considering that Mythos is a fine-dining locale at a theme park, the entrées are pretty decently priced, at $22 to $37 for an entrée. Our top picks for entrées are the Sea Scallop and Barley Risotto (delish!), the Gnocci Bolognese, and the Souvlaki Couscous Bowl. Lastly, we recommend the Pad Thai as one of the top dishes at Mythos! For $26, the Pad Thai has exceptional flavor, comes with both chicken and shrimp, and the dish can even be upgraded to have a vegan alternative upon request.

Based on the décor and menu options, Mythos Universal Studios Orlando feels like a strictly Mediterranean spot, but they also offer a Lamb Burger and a Bacon Cheeseburger if that’s more your style! If anyone in your party is feeling adventurous, take a chance and order the Fork, Knife, and Spoon Grilled Cheese. This grilled cheese is brought to your table inside the tomato soup that accompanies it. What makes this dish so special (aside from the unique presentation) is the crispy pork belly!

Try it and see for yourself!

Sips and Sweets

Who doesn’t love a restaurant that can also whip up some amazing milkshakes? At Mythos, you can order chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, or even a banana milkshake. They also have an Espresso Shake if you’re feeling extra adventurous. (They also have typical sodas, iced teas, and juice.) If you’re interested in switching things up a bit, be sure to try one of their two specialty non-alcoholic drinks: the Mango Lassi (yogurt, mango nectar, and mango syrup) or the Caravan Lassi (yogurt, rose water, pistachio syrup, and Turkish delights)!

If you’re a coffee drinker, you’ll be well taken care of at Mythos at Universal. Their drink menu offers regular brewed coffee, decaf, cappuccinos, lattes, and regular espresso!

If milkshakes, yogurt-based beverages, and sodas aren’t for you, you also have the option of some unique Fruit Slush flavors.

But that’s not all!

It would be wrong to leave this Grecian-inspired culinary experience without at least glancing at the dessert menu. Guests can order pumpkin bread pudding topped with caramel sugar glass (wow!) or make the ever-difficult decision between Chocolate Banana Gooey-Cake or Chocolate-Hazelnut Crème Brûlee.

Suffice it to say the decision-making will be difficult at Mythos Universal. The chefs do a fantastic job, and the experience is truly more elevated than other eateries at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. That’s why we think it’s one of the most loved places. Keep in mind that although a reservation will help you avoid a long wait time, they aren’t required, only recommended. Additionally, there is no dress code to enter, so no stressing over the ensembles!

If you do decide to walk up rather than reserve a spot, don’t forget to check the hours before you go! Sometimes hours will vary based on seasonal events.

Have you ever eaten at Mythos Universal Studios Orlando? If not, we hope it becomes your new favorite dining experience at Universal Studios – Islands of Adventure!
