Pirates Dinner Adventure: An Exciting Swashbuckling Good Show in Orlando, Florida!

As the sun sets in Orlando, Florida, an 18th-century Spanish galleon sets sail upon the high seas – with you on board!

As your pirate captors swing wildly around the rigging, clashing cutlasses and firing off booming blunderbusses, you’re left to feast upon your last meal: a capital three-course dinner fit for the captain! If dinner weren’t followed by walking the plank, you’d have to give it five stars.

And we actually do give five stars to the Pirates Dinner Adventure located in Orlando, Florida! It makes for an incredibly memorable night that’s fun for the whole family. Oh, and don’t worry about the whole being kidnapped by renegade pirates thing; you can always count on Benjamin Blue to swoop in and save the day!

Just bring your appetite and prepare to be amazed because the adventure is about to begin. . . Arrrr!

Pirates

The cast of the Pirates Dinner Adventure is a colorful crew, prepared to dazzle and delight you with acrobatics, pyrotechnics, and a barrel of laughs!

It’s no wonder these pirates have decided to hide out here in Florida; with hidden inlets, secluded bays, and overgrown marshes, it’s easy to flee the law – at least, that’s what real pirates were doing here during the Golden Age of Piracy.1 The shining era lasted from 1650 to 1730, and scholars believe up to 5,000 pirates sailed through the Florida Straits, stashing treasure in the swamps for safekeeping. After all, there’s no sentinel like a Florida gator!

The captain of the Pirates Dinner Adventure’s sinister crew is none other than Sebastian the Black. The epitome of everything a scallywag should be, he’s right in league with the fiercest pirate known to history: Edward Teach. (That’s “Blackbeard” to us landlubbers!) Blackbeard became a pirate in order to plunder silver-filled ships, and Sebastian the Black is no different.2 Tonight, in fact, he’s got his eye on a very particular jewel. . .

However, that jewel in possession of a mermaid. OF course, mermaids have been an integral part of any good sea-faring story for over 5,000 years.3 Legends of alluring fish-maiden dragging men into the sea were often swapped by sailors over a round of rum. Manatees, which can be found in Florida’s temperate springs, were often mistaken for these mysterious beings. In fact, Christopher Colombus’ 1492 account of a mermaid sighting is actually the first written record of manatees in North America.4

Not only are the characters and folklore of the Pirates Dinner Adventure influenced by real buccaneer history, but so is the Spanish galleon floating in the 300,000-gallon indoor lagoon. (Situated a bit like Shakespeare’s Globe, the audience wraps almost 360-degrees around the lagoon, so there isn’t a bad seat in the house!) With its 40-foot masts, billowing sails, and a fashionable helm, the galleon will transport you back to the seven seas of the 18th century every Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night.

You might just find yourself looking over your shoulder for Captain Jack Sparrow, don’t ya know!

Dinner

Of course, the Pirates Dinner Adventure wouldn’t be complete without the dinner – and what a mouth-watering meal it is!

Served while you sit back and enjoy the show at Pirates Dinner Adventure, three delectable courses are brought out to you, along with complimentary soda and coffee. (A caffeine boost in case the adrenaline of the show wasn’t already enough to lift your spirits!)

Appetizers include a savory tomato bisque soup or a crisp Caesar salad with crunchy good croutons. For your main course, you can choose between a tender, roasted 1/4 chicken or beautifully seasoned, flame-kissed pork loin. Either way, you can’t go wrong! Both options come with a side of Yukon gold potato purée and specially prepared seasonal veggies. And fellow pasta lovers rejoice – there’s also a delicious Doubloon Penne Pasta option; noodles are coated in tasty basil pesto and tossed with fresh seasonal veggies. (The pasta can even be requested as a gluten-free option!) A special menu for smaller swashbucklers includes crispy chicken nuggets and a real golden treasure: melty mac n’ cheese!

For dessert, enjoy a decadent brownie dusted in a snowfall of powdered sugar and drizzled with ooey-gooey caramel.

The menu also comes with upgrade options: for a small fee, you can switch your chicken to salmon – or a giant turkey leg – and also swap your brownie out for a slice of New York-style cheesecake.

Is it just me, or do you feel hungry?

Adventure

While something sweet would sure hit the spot right about now, I know what we’re most hungry for here at MouseEarsTV is the thrill of a grand adventure! And the Pirates Dinner Adventure most certainly delivers.

The Secrets of the Deep is a perilous tale brimming with sword fights and sea monsters and is “the perfect blend of comedy, romance, action, and adventure.”5 The show is incredibly interactive; you’re invited to sing and cheer, and over 150 of the 700 guests will have the chance to play an actual role in the show!

The plot itself is audience immersive as you’re thanked for coming to the annual Governor’s Gala – held every year to celebrate the anniversary of Sebastian the Black’s humiliating defeat.

This year, you were invited by Princess Anita herself, and she can’t wait to introduce you to the guest of honor: a real mermaid with a magical jewel said to control a sea dragon. Of course, it’s not long before the captain himself crashes the party – and we aren’t talking Captain Crunch! Oh, no, it’s Sebastian the Black, and he’s back for revenge!

Luckily, the heroic Benjamin Blue is here, too, and with your help and a very clever plan, he may be able to free the captive audience before the night is up. But not before you’ve sailed into the clutches of the sea dragon. . .

Well, I better stop there. You’ll have to go see how it ends for yourself!

If you happen to attend the Pirates Dinner Adventure during the month of October, you’ll be treated to their spooky production of Vampirates, where Captain Sebastian the Black is truly bloodthirsty. (Jeepers!) There’s even a special Christmas production – The Pirate Who Stole Christmas – in which Captain Kringle and his merry crew are the only hope of rescuing the holidays from miserly Minister Scrooge and Magistrate Marley!

The Pirates Dinner Adventure is a must-see in any season and is sure to leave you with laughter in your heart and a smile on your face.
