Lake Louisa State Park: The 3 BEST Things About Camping Here!
Every year, Central Florida attracts millions of visitors. After all, Disney World, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, and ICON Park are wonderful places to take your family on vacation! However, these places also come with a price tag. As do the accommodations. With that in mind, it might feel like a Florida getaway is out of reach. But we’re thrilled to report that’s not the case! There are other options, and we’ve found an especially alluring gem to satisfy your vacation dreams.
Lake Louisa State Park is one of the best budget-friendly ways to visit all of the theme parks your heart could desire. Located just 30 minutes outside of Orlando, this fantastic Florida State Park offers plenty of camping opportunities at a low rate of just $24 (at the time of publication) per night! If the price tag wasn’t appealing enough, then stay tuned, because we’ve got 3 reasons why Lake Louisa State Park is an ideal way to vacay!
Lake Louisa State Park: Camping Made Comfortable
The best part about camping at Lake Louisa State Park (aside from the amazingly inexpensive nightly rate) is the fact you have so many different options for camping here.
There are 60 full hookup campsites throughout the park, each with access to 30 and 50 amp charging stations. Whether you bring your own RV or you decide to rent one, you’ll be able to stay in comfort for as long as you like with these hookups!
If you’re in need of an accessible campsite, keep in mind sites 1, 34, and 36. These spots have a level surface for the entire campsite and connect to paved sidewalks which lead to bathhouses in their respective campsite loops.
Tent camping is also welcome at Lake Louisa State Park at any one of the campsites! However, if RVing or tent camping isn’t your cup of tea, you can reserve your stay at one of the “glamping” sites inside of the park. Choose from a cabin or a luxury tent for an incredible camping experience you won’t soon forget! Lake Louisa has 20 cabins to choose from, all of which have incredible views of Dixie Lake. Each cabin also comes stocked with all of the necessities you need to be comfortable. You’re sure to feel right at home!
While camping near Orlando theme parks might sound unconventional, campsites and cabins book up surprisingly quickly! We recommend making reservations far in advance. You can book a site 11 months in advance of your stay! Planning ahead is key to getting a spot at Lake Louisa State Park.
Within Arm’s Reach: World Class Theme Parks
Aside from being in an absolutely beautiful location and bordered by two lakes, Lake Louisa offers an inexpensive way to access the most desirable reasons people visit Central Florida: the theme parks!
Lake Louisa is a short drive from each of the major theme parks. To the southeast, you’ll find Disney World is only 20 minutes away. ICON Park, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld are a little bit further away, but still manageable with a 40-minute drive.
By staying at Lake Louisa State Park, you’ll be freeing up your hard-earned vacation money to spend on quality food, souvenirs, and experiences at all of the theme parks! Plus, you get the added experience of exploring one of Florida’s state parks. It’s the best of everything, all in one trip!
If the price per night and the proximity to world-class theme parks aren’t quite enough to convince you to stay at Lake Louisa State Park, the things that you’ll be able to do within the park are sure to seal the deal!
Lake Louisa State Park: Who Even Needs Theme Parks?
The fun doesn’t have to end once you’re done at the theme parks. In fact, with everything Lake Louisa State Park has to offer, you might just decide to skip the theme parks altogether. (I said might.) With something to delight everyone in your group, some of Lake Louisa’s best activities include:
- Biking

With over 20 miles of trails throughout the park, those who have an insatiable desire to be immersed in nature will find themselves right at home! And if you want to check out any of the trails by bike, but forgot to bring yours (or just didn’t want the endure the hassle of packing it), don’t sweat it! Lake Louisa State Park has plenty of bikes that are available for rent.
The same thing goes for canoes and kayaks! You’re welcome to bring your own floatation devices, but Lake Louisa has you covered if you’d prefer to rent one of theirs.
