Super Yummy WDW Holiday Treats & Dining (And Where To Find Them) – Thanksgiving & Christmas 2022 Edition
Greetings, Disney-loving friends and fans! It’s about that time of year again when we start dreaming of a white Christmas. And we mean dreaming – there’s no snow in Orlando. Thankfully for us, Mickey knows how to through a really festive bash, even minus the cold weather. To make up for the lack of snow, there’s a whole host of WDW holiday treats to make this season bright!
All of Walt Disney World Resort will begin celebrating the merry holiday season on November 11th. We hope you arrive hungry and ready to snack on some delicious delicacies! (Seriously, no one knows how to celebrate better than Disney!)
Guests should expect fabulous magical and merry decorations, characters in their best holiday dress, and of course, everyone’s favorite part – those seasonal snacks! Prepare your tastebuds for all things peppermint and chocolate! (And cinnamon! And eggnog! And sugar!)
Thanksgiving Feasting – Disney Style
But first, Thanksgiving. Are you thinking of being in Disney around or on Thanksgiving? Curious about your dining options? We know what’s up, and we’ve got answers for you!
One of our favorite Thanksgiving dinners in Disney World is Trattoria Al Forno at Disney’s Boardwalk! They have amazing sage and thyme oven-roasted turkey accompanied by all of the typical American Thanksgiving fixings you would expect. With delicious potatoes, green beans, cornbread – you name it! – you won’t regret your choice to dine here. We highly recommend it!
Another great option for Thanksgiving (and there are many!) is the holiday turkey burger offered at Tusker House in Disney’s Animal Kingdom (with characters). You can also order a standard Thanksgiving dinner here if that’s more your style or preference. Enjoy turkey, delicious bread, dressing, and veggies. Rest assured that there are Thanksgiving options at every Disney Park and Disney Springs, along with many of the resorts, so your list of dinner options is almost as long as that list of things you’re thankful for! (And you can add Disney thanksgiving dinner to that list!)
In Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Hollywood and Vine transforms into “Minnie’s Holiday Dine” where you can have a full Thanksgiving meal complete with turkey, cornbread, stuffing, gravy, and even cranberry-orange relish. Perfect and utterly classic! Enjoy your meal with your family on Thanksgiving as Mickey, Minnie, and other friends stop by the tables and help get you in the Thanksgiving holiday spirit!
One place that we simply love is STK in Disney Springs. Here, they have excellent turkey maple-baked sweet potatoes (Yes! You heard that right!), cranberry orange chutney, and an absolutely exquisite spiced pumpkin pie. We promise you won’t regret choosing this spot for your Thanksgiving dinner with the fam.
Believe it or not, we’ve barely scratched the surface of places where you can enjoy traditional or unique Thanksgiving meals in Walt Disney World; these are just some of our favorites! No matter where you are in WDW, you’ll be able to find a truly tasty meal!
Now, we’ve got even more holiday ground to cover in this article, so time to switch out that turkey for some mistletoe…
Let’s Talk WDW Christmas!
We’ve compiled a list of past holiday desserts and treats that you’ll want to look out for this holiday season. We can’t guarantee they will all be available again this year, as the announcements haven’t been made (as of writing).
Even without the official menu announcements, we’re still willing to go out on a limb and say Thanksgiving at Disney World, and Mickey’s Merry Christmas Party are some of the absolute best times of the year! Read on for what we know about the WDW holiday treats list of the past.
A WDW Seasonal Treats Hall of Fame, if you will.
What We Know From The Ghost of WDW Holiday Treats of Seasons Past:
Joffrey’s Coffee stations will be stocked with peppermint mocha lattes and white chocolate gingerbread lattes. For all you coffee lovers who need their morning caffeine jolt, why not add some merriment into your morning? (You can even try a sensational seasonal cold brew in EPCOT!)
One of the coolest things that Disney Word does during the holiday season is EPCOT’s Holiday Kitchens – part of EPCOT’s “Festival of the Holidays.”
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays will begin on November 25th. If you’ve ever been to other festivals throughout the year at EPCOT, you’ll have a general idea of what what to expect. Food kitchens will placed throughout the World Showcase, blanketing the park in delicious, mouth-watering scents.
In the past, holiday kitchens have included the American holiday table, the Chestnuts and Good Cheer Holiday Kitchen, the Donut Box, the Holiday Hearth Desserts, Holiday Sweets and Treats, L’chaim! Holiday Kitchen, Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen, and so many more! There’s even been a cool international cookie hunt, in which guests can try different seasonal cookies from around the world. So fun! (And yummy!)
Seasonal Goodies Galore
Here’s a few more delicious seasonally-flavored desserts to keep your eyes out for!
In the Magic Kingdom, one of the most desired treats is the Christmas Cookie Milkshake and the Christmas Cookie Sundae in Tomorrowland. Run – don’t walk! – to try this phenomenal ice cream delight! In addition to other treats you’ll find around the Kingdom, there’s also Mickey’s Merry Christmas Party which includes entire booths of cookies and hot chocolate during party hours.
In Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there is a plethora of holiday treats to locate. Some of our favorites are The Reindeer Mousse, available in the past at Rosie’s All-American Café, and The Trolley Car Café. The Frozen Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate is available in several locations, including Rosie’s All-American Café or the ABC Commissary.
In Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you’ll want to head straight to Island Java when you arrive. They have a variety of seasonal hot chocolate flavors and lattes! Try a gingerbread latte or a s’more‘s hot cocoa to satisfy your stomach with the Christmas spirit.
Please note that each individual resort hotel also has various snacks and beverages, so be on the lookout regardless of where you stay! Much like Thanksgiving, each resort has different holiday beverages, including cocktails, hot chocolate, and lattes, along with desserts and treats.
If you’re planning to spend time in Disney Springs, don’t skip D-Luxe Burger and their highly coveted “Oh Dear” cookie shake. It’s made of vanilla gelato, hazelnut liqueur, and cinnamon. There’s also, of course, Amorette’s Patisserie, which is a must-go! But are you surprised? As a bakery that always delivers the best of the best, it would be a crime to skip it at Christmas time.
Our list of WDW holiday treats could go on (and on…and on), but these are the must-try highlights! We hope you enjoy them!
