The Best Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day at Disney World
February is just around the corner, and that means it’s almost Valentine’s Day!
And what better to celebrate the season of love than the Most Magical Place on Earth? As you make plans for this holiday of romance, sweets, and all things amore, we’re here with suggestions for the best places to take your Valentine, as well as the treats you’ll want to stop for along the way.
But a Valentine’s Day at Disney World is not just confined to the parks – there are tons of delicious dining spots and date ideas throughout the many Disney resorts!
Let’s start with the sweets that are awaiting you! (That’s the most important part, right?)
Have a Super Sweet Valentine’s Day at Disney World!
You’re likely to stumble upon deliciously Valentine’s themed desserts at almost every bakery or shop on Disney World property. Think of each treat like a Hidden Mickey! Keep your eyes peeled!
Here are a few of our top highlights from the many Valentine’s Day desserts on the Disney World property:
Disney’s Boardwalk is a stellar option for a Valentine’s date. Complete with beautiful scenery, delightful stops, shops, and treats all along the Boardwalk – as well as some particularly fantastic ice cream – you might consider spending your whole afternoon or evening at the Boardwalk!
Now, EPCOT may not strike you as the perfect Valentine’s Day spot, but think again! One of our favorite restaurants (and fine dining spots) is the Coral Reef Restaurant located in “The Seas with Nemo and Friends” pavilion. This very upscale dining experience is a unique pleasure, with exquisite food and a swarm of sea creatures swimming around the aquariums in the restaurant. Last year, The Coral Reef offered an exclusive, limited-time-only dessert in honor of Valentine’s Day: A flourless chocolate cake! We’re excited to see what they release this year – we just know it will be fintastic!
Either before or after your meal at the Coral Reef, we recommend a romantic stroll around the France Pavilion in the World Showcase. Paris is the city of love, after all! Take a ride on Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, pick up some macarons at Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie, or try some crepes from La Crêperie de Paris. You could even enjoy a wine sampling at La Maison du Vin!
If you want dessert a la fine dining, make a reservation (in advance!) at Flying Fish. This swanky seafood and steak restaurant won’t disappoint! Their entire menu can be viewed on the WDW website, but for a limited time only in February, guests have the option of ordering a cocoa beach vanilla custard. With a heavenly flavor and a gorgeous red heart as the crown jewel topping to the dessert, this delicacy is the perfect choice to close out your romantic dinner.
Some of our other favorite Valentine’s Day dessert locations are:
- The Main Street Bakery
- The Plaza Restaurant in Magic Kingdom
- Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs
- Aristocrepes in Disney Springs
- Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs (Known to have very long lines!)
Each of the above has had Valentine’s Day dessert exclusives available only during the month of February. We’re so excited to see which places bake something new and unique for Valentine’s 2023!
Disney World Date Night
Need a few more romantic spots for Valentine’s Day evening? We’ve got you covered. Here are our favorite dining spots for a fancy dinner date!
Even if you’ve tried some pretty extravagant meals at Disney World, you may not be familiar with Citricos. Citricos is a charming, classy, and located in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Much of the food is Mediterranean inspired, and they even have an award-winning wine list! The lovely interior is influenced by the film Mary Poppins Returns. The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa itself exudes luxury; you really can’t go wrong with the meal at Citricos! A Valentine’s date here is one to remember.
Another top spot is located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s a fine-dining restaurant, and you’ve probably heard of it…
The Hollywood Brown Derby! The Brown Derby is a Disney fan favorite and perfect for a fancier evening out. Designed after the actual restaurant in Hollywood (which closed in the 80s), this replica continues to delight with the dazzle of Hollywood’s golden age. The decor will definitely have you and your Valentine feeling oh-so-glamorous!
Next, have you ever heard of The Edison? The Edison is located in Disney Springs, and it has the most unique 1920s vibe. Their food is fantastic, and there’s also a nightclub inside serving fantastic cocktails that will totally WOW you and your date. They usually have a lineup of performers, and you can make reservations to secure your spot. As of writing, there’s still a fun WDW 50th Anniversary Celebration option on the menu, too. If you want a fun and livelier atmosphere, The Edison could be an excellent option for you on Valentine’s Day!
If you want something really classy, make your reservation for February 14th at Capa, a Michelin-starred, fine dining location inside the Four Seasons on the Disney property. Not only is there a package option to see the fireworks display with your meal, but the food is truly divine, and the whole restaurant has an intoxicating ambiance of luxury.
This next one is expensive, but it’s also beloved. The Dining Room at Victoria and Albert’s, located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, is genuinely one of those restaurants you have to eat at to understand the (deserved) hype. Grandeur and splendor envelop the entire space.
Warning: you may be sad when you leave because you’ll know you just had the best meal of your life. (Kidding! But also, kind of serious?)
Reservations are required at Victoria and Albert’s. Make them well in advance!
You will choose your meal from two different chefs’ tasting menus. Be aware there is also a dress code for this unparalleled dining indulgence. Like we said, super fancy!
Pivoting from the last suggestion over to Magic Kingdom, our final dining recommendation for Valentine’s Day in Disney World is Tony’s Town Square Restaurant. Tony’s is an Italian restaurant inspired by The Lady and The Tramp. (Need we say more?) We love a theme, and Tony’s really commits. This is an expensive option, to be sure, and some feel it is not as “upscale” as other options on the Disney property. However, we love that it’s inside Magic Kingdom and close to the front so that you can end your day in the park with a perfect meal.
What better way to spend Valentine’s Day than copying Lady and Tramp with an order of spaghetti and meatballs? We can’t think of anything more classic! Make sure to make a reservation in advance, but know that, as a general rule, Tony’s often takes walk-ins. So, even if you aren’t able to get a reservation, not all hope is lost!
Bonus Rec: This one is not a restaurant, but definitely a romantic end to your day on Valentine’s Day. Consider taking your date to the Enchanted Rose lounge inside Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. The main reason we suggest it? Because the entire inside is inspired by Beauty and the Beast, one of Disney’s most romantic love stories. The decor is rose-inspired, and you’ll feel like you’re inside the Beast’s castle. Indulge in a fabulously-concocted beverage as you relive a fairytale classic.
Other Romantic Attractions at Disney World
While you can’t beat a good meal, there are a few more date ideas we wanted to mention!
- We highly recommend considering a carriage ride. Port Orleans Resort Riverside offers carriage rides leaving from their Riverside Levee Marina. What could be dreamier?
- If a carriage ride isn’t your cup of tea, then you might consider a spa treatment, available at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Get a Mani/Pedi with your significant other or a relaxing massage!
- Lastly, we want to remind you that the 50th-anniversary celebration ends on March 30, 2023. You don’t have much time left to indulge in the 50th-anniversary exclusive dining, additional treats, and merch throughout the park. The reason we mention this is because you may want to consider a 50th-anniversary celebration option this month before it goes away!
We hope you and your valentine have the most romantic Valentine’s Day. Relax at the spa, eat an incredible meal, and celebrate the most romantic day of the year with Mickey and Minnie.
