10 Best EPCOT Instagram Spots You’ll Love (And Some You Probably Never Knew Existed!)
Walt Disney World’s EPCOT is one of the most unique theme park experiences in the world. It’s also one of the most innovative in design and theme. This gorgeous, sprawling park has something for just about everyone – fantastic food, exclusive cultural festivals, exciting entertainment, and exhilarating rides.
It’s also home to some of the most fantastic photo spots in any of the parks if you know where to look. To help you on your next trip, we’re going to list some of our favorite popular spots for EPCOT Instagram magic and uncover some hidden gems you may not even know about.
10 – Galaxy Wall
The walls of Disney are a staple of Disney parks, and photographing yourself against one of these popular locales is all the craze for Disney fans. As you’ll soon discover, they’re especially popular at EPCOT. However, this particular wall is a new addition to the parks as it’s actually a construction element surrounding the site of the new Guardians of the Galaxy coaster. And the best part? It’s a colorful galactic backdrop for any space-themed disneybounds you might be planning! It should be visible until the ride’s opening in late 2021, so make sure you snag your best starry shot before the Guardians crash land at EPCOT.
9 – Mesoamerican Pyramid
The Mexico pavilion has many great architectural features, including the giant Mesoamerican pyramid that houses a restaurant, ride, and shopping plaza. That pyramid makes a great backdrop for a photo, especially centered at the top of the stairs and in front of the Mayan warrior mural. We recommend ducking inside the pyramid to snag your favorite flavored margarita from La Cava del Tequila before striking a pose. Not only are you sure to get a great photo, but you also get the bonus of tequila! Everyone wins!
8 – British Gardens
If you slip back along the shops in the United Kingdom pavilion, you’ll come across a great little garden area complete with an adorable hedge maze that is the perfect place for any quirky, lost-in Wonderland photos you might have in mind. You can also snag a few shots in a distinctive red phonebooth or just in front of the idyllic cottage nearby. The area feels like you’ve been transported to another time.
You can often catch either Alice (often accompanied by The White Rabbit) or Mary Poppins around this area for a Meet and Greet, too!
7 – The Land Mosaic
We’re working our way through the EPCOT walls! You certainly won’t find a more unusual Disney wall than this one. The multicolored mosaic depicts the earth’s layers, providing a lot of rich earthy colors with some vibrant pops of color. You’ll find the mosaic wall at the shaded entrance of the Land Pavilion in Future World, so think about heading over that way when you need a break from the sun (and maybe think about grabbing a snack at the rotating Garden Grill).
6 – Torii Gate
There are many spots at the Japan Pavilion worthy of Instagram fame (including the picturesque pagoda). Still, few really capture the essence of the pavilion as well as the Torii Gate. While not one of the most popular spots, it’s one of those truly unique picture spots that doesn’t get enough attention! The shape acts like a natural frame from your photo, giving you a lot of room to play with. Since it’s actually located in the lagoon, you can compose some really great photos of the Seven Seas Lagoon and the rest of the park beyond. We recommend hitting this around sunset to get a truly epic backdrop (including a well-lit Spaceship Earth in the distance).
5 – Toothpaste Wall
Feeling minty fresh? Then this wall is for you. The #toothpastewall (yes, every brightly colored wall at Disney has a hashtag) is one that’s recently gained popularity as an EPCOT Instagram photo spot favorite. You can find it outside The Seas with Nemo & Friends pavilion near the entrance. Beware though. You might have to fight stroller parking to find a blank spot!
4 – The Nejjarine Fountain
This is one of those hidden gems most EPCOT visitors may never see. It’s tucked in the back of the Morocco Pavilion, so you’ll need to go through the arch and back into the Bazaar area to find it. This abstract geometric fountain is actually a replica of the Nejjarine Fountain in the city of Fez. Not only do you get a cool photo, but you also get a bit of history to go with it! Hey, sometimes it pays to do a little exploring before the inevitable multi-hour wait for the Frozen ride.
3 – Blueberry Wall
Did you think we were done with walls yet? Not quite! This #blueberrywall is another EPCOT Instagram hot spot for colorful photos. It’s outside the base of Spaceship Earth, making it easy to find when you’re moving through Future World.
In fact, you can find it right next to our number two spot!
2 – Bubblegum Wall
What can we say? Disney walls are always a clear winner at this park! The Bubblegum wall is by far the most popular at EPCOT Instagram wall and lands only behind The Purple Wall in overall popularity. Yes, that means it also has its own hashtags ( #bubblegumwall and #bubblegumwallphotos ) and fashion trends. You cannot miss this one (seriously, look at that color scheme), as it’s located just at the exit to Spaceship Earth.
Speaking of which….
1 – Spaceship Earth
As the iconic structure of the park and its centerpiece, Spaceship Earth is one of the most unique architectural shapes Disney has to offer. Yes, it also looks like a golf ball. We know. Still, the geosphere is that must-have EPCOT Instagram photo spot on our list. As you enter the park, it’s easy to find a good spot for a photo, as it looks great from every angle (that whole sphere shape and all). Waiting for your turn to pose in front of the manicured gardens at the park’s entrance never fails to produce an unforgettable vacation photo at the park.
Bonus – Future World At Night
This is another of those hidden bits you might miss if you aren’t paying attention. If you wait until after sundown at EPCOT, you may notice that the ground between Spaceship Earth and the former Innovations building lights up, changing both colors and patterns beneath your feet. So look down next time! With the right angle, you can get a chic ground-level photo that captures this magic!
That’s all from us this time. We’ve barely scratched the surface of underrated photo spots you’ll find in EPCOT, as every pavilion has its own secrets to uncover. However, we hope you’ll enjoy some of our favorite locations the next time you explore the park.
