New Disney Restaurants Alert! Rodeo Roundup BBQ in Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios & Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s Boardwalk – Coming to WDW Spring 2023

We know you like staying up-to-date on all the new additions coming to Walt Disney World. And who doesn’t?
Two exciting new Disney restaurants are arriving soon: Spring 2023 will welcome Rodeo Roundup BBQ in Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios as well as The Cake Bake Shop Bakery at Disney’s Boardwalk.
We don’t know which one we’re more excited about!
So, what exactly will each of these new Disney restaurants be like? Read on!
Rodeo Roundup BBQ
“Heeeeee’s the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the Wild, Wild West… Woody’s Roundup!”
It’s been announced that guests at Rodeo Roundup can expect delicious barbeque at the new table service spot in Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios. It was previously scheduled to open by the end of 2022, but the grand opening has now been set for this spring. We’re thrilled that Hollywood Studios is expanding Toy Story Land to add this new BBQ joint. We can hardly wait! The best part about Rodeo Roundup – aside from the delicious cuisine – is that all the décor will showcase fun, Toy Story-inspired objects and thematic props.
In addition to seeing some of your favorite characters from the Toy Story movies incorporated into the decor, the atmosphere will also resemble that of the Toy Story Midway Mania ride; giant-sized items like pencils, Tinkertoy pieces, and monkeys from the Barrel O’ Monkeys game will frame the entrance and bring the aesthetic of Toy Story Land into the new restaurant. Don’t expect any characters to come up to your table, though, as this new restaurant will not have character dining.
Don’t forget to look up! Even the comic strips on the ceiling will be part of the Toy Story experience! We can’t wait to see it all for ourselves. Every detail has been thought of, even down to the plates, which are designed to look like paper plates when they are, in fact, “real” plates. You’ll probably see some green army men hanging out in Rodeo Roundup BBQ as well!
Let’s talk menu! Expect delicious standard barbecue options, including smoked meats and lots of sides, all served up family style! The condiment bottles might even have your favorite characters on them. We think this new restaurant will have you saying, “Whoo-wee! There’s a snake in my boot!”
The Cake Bake Shop Bakery
If you’re a dessert fanatic or even someone who just has that occasional sweet tooth, we have a feeling you’re going to be pretty ecstatic about the new bakery opening up on Disney’s Boardwalk.
Introducing… The Cake Bake Shop Bakery by Gwendolyn Rogers!
You can almost hear the celebratory trumpets in the distance! This brand-new bakery is going to be a must-try for Disney vacationers. Expect extravagant, mouth-watering French macarons! Cakes! Cookies! Pies, Cheesecakes, Brownies, Croissants, Coffee, Dessert Bars… whew! We’re exhausted.
The best part about these specially baked delights is that not only will they taste heavenly, but they’ll also look like they’re right out of a magazine… or a French pastry chef’s portfolio! You’ll definitely want to add this dessert to your Instagram feed. (That’s why they call it a feed, right?)
Rumor has it the displays inside the bakery will include French platters, but you’ll already feel like you’re in a Parisian pâtisserie thanks to the stunning exterior design! This is going to be a can’t-miss spot, even for those who only indulge in the occasional dessert. We’re already planning our splurge day… In fact, with The Cake Bake Shop Bakery set to arrive at Disney’s Boardwalk this spring, it’s safe to say we’re already counting down to the big opening!
Other specialties offered by The Cake Bake Shop will include champagne and decorative cocktails, and – best of all – Afternoon Tea! No doubt guests will be running to book a reservation when it first opens, and once we can land a spot, we’re definitely going to try out Afternoon Tea for ourselves! (And we think you should, too!)
The pastry chef, Gwendolyn Rogers, has locations in Carmel, Indiana, as well as Indianapolis, Indiana. But coming soon, Orlando, Florida, will be added to that hallowed list. The Cake Bake Shop Bakery has a very French, fairytale-esque, princess aesthetic for its brand. In other words, they’ll fit right in at Disney World!
If all of that wasn’t sweet enough, The Cake Bake Shop will also offer brunch, lunch, and dinner! Guests will have the option of choosing a sit-down meal experience or purchasing a quick bite from the fabulous bakery case.
We’re simply ecstatic about this grand opening. How about you?
New Disney Restaurants, Here We Come!
Sometimes vacations are go, go, go, but make sure you take some time during your upcoming spring vacation to visit The Boardwalk and enjoy those impeccable sweets. And, of course, you’ll also want to make sure you carve out enough time – and appetite! – for Rodeo Roundup BBQ during your day at Hollywood Studios! Disney is really supplying us with some terrific new eatery options. We are so ready!
However, while we may be champing at the bit, as of writing, no official opening dates for either of these new spots have been officially announced. We know that guests are anxiously anticipating those announcements, though.
