Mickey Shaped Food & Where to Find It: 8 Magic Kingdom Snacks for the Ultimate Mickey Mouseketeer
Cookies, ice cream, and soft pretzels are my love language. And my favorite dialect of that love language is Walt Disney World cookies, ice cream, and soft pretzels. Everything tastes more magical in the Magic Kingdom.
But did you know there is a magicality spectrum? Oh, yes. It’s a highly scientific scale (that I just made up). Everything Disney-related is magical, but some things are more magical than others. We call that the “magicality quotient.”
Now, I don’t know if you’ve ever noticed this…but Disney World’s mascot is a really cute mouse. Like, ridiculously adorable. His name is Mickey.
Anything with Mickey has an automatically high magicality quotient. Which is why, scientifically speaking, Mickey shaped food tastes better than regular shaped food.
We’ve hunted across the Magic Kingdom for all the quintessential Mickey Mouse morsels, so even your snack breaks can be as magical as possible!
Mickey Shaped Food Across The Magic Kingdom
Mickey shaped snacks are not only adorable, they’re also delicious! And luckily, unlike Hidden Mickeys, it’s pretty easy to find these sweet treats all around the Magic Kingdom. I hope you’re hungry!
1. Wonderfully Mickey Shaped Waffles
Breakfast’s best friend is a Mickey shaped waffle! Available at several Disney resorts and lodges, you can also find the happiest waffle on earth in the Magic Kingdom park. Just head to Sleepy Hollow, a quaint, little refreshment counter in Liberty Square. Served until 11 a.m., you can get your Mickey waffle sprinkled with a generous flurry of powdered sugar or topped with dreamy whipped cream and sweet, sweet strawberries.1
Mickey’s smiling face is so cute, you might almost feel guilty for devouring your waffle. Almost.
2. Mickey Shaped Ice Cream Bar: Too Cool!
I was SO excited to see some Mickey shaped ice cream bars being sold at my local Walmart a few months ago, but there’s still something extra special about cooling down with this Mickey shaped snack while actually visiting the Magic Kingdom!
You can find “Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bars” around the park at different ice cream carts. The carts have signs which prominently feature a picture of the ice cream bar, so you shouldn’t have any trouble spotting them.2
Made with vanilla ice cream dipped in a chocolate-y coating, this treat is sure to magically satisfy your sweet tooth, especially on a hot, summer day!
(Note: The Mickey ice cream bar is a popular photo-op prop, especially in front of Cinderella’s Castle! Just make sure to snap your shot before it melts!)
3. Cooler Still: Mickey Shaped Ice Cream Sandwich
Found at the same stands with Mickey ice cream bars, Mickey shaped ice cream sandwiches are ready to delight your taste buds and your heart (they’re so cute)! It’s the same creamy, vanilla ice cream you know and love, but squished between two decadent, chocolate cookies that look like Mickey’s face.
4. Soft & Savory Mickey Pretzel
Sometimes you aren’t in the mood for something sweet. Sometimes, you just feel a little salty. There’s a Mickey shaped snack for that!
At several kiosks throughout the park, you’ll find Mickey’s face baked, buttered, and salt-sprinkled to savory perfection. You can eat Mickey just like that, or spice him up with some nacho cheese dipping sauce.3
5. Snap, Crackle, Pop! Mickey Rice Krispie Treat
Head over to Main Street, U.S.A., and pop into the Confectionary to find Walt Disney World’s most dazzling sweets!4
One such spectacular indulgence is a Mickey Krispie treat! The combination of breakfast cereal, marshmallow, and butter is already pretty life-changing, but make it Mickey shaped, and it’s really out-of-this-world amazing.
The Mickey Krispie treats come in various shapes and sizes – including some as big as your face! Some are chocolate dipped or coated in colorful sprinkles, but you can also get them without any extra confectionary frills. After all, when something is this good, it’s best enjoyed in its purest form.
(Note: you can often find Mickey Krispie treats at various other kiosks and quick-service counters around the Kingdom!)
6. Snow White’s Greatest Temptation: Mickey Candy Apples
While you’re picking out your Mickey Krispie treat at the Confectionary, you should also check out their other renowned Mickey shaped snack: the Mickey candy apple!5
Dipped in caramel and then chocolate – complete with adorable marshmallow ears – Mickey candy apples are often further dressed in red, sugar glitter shorts with yellow jelly bean buttons. Although, depending on the season, you might find your Mickey candy apple dressed for Halloween, St. Patrick’s Day, or Christmas!
No matter how it’s dressed, a Mickey candy apple is sure to be fantastic. The tang of the apple combined with the sweet chewy caramel and melt in your mouth chocolate…that’s a real magic spell.
7. Scrumptiously Sticky Micky Mouse Cinnamon Rolls
Your caffeine quest is about to get a lot more magical. Not only can you grab a latte in the Magic Kingdom, but you can also grab a Mickey shaped snack to go with it! Located at the Main Street Bakery – the Magic Kingdom’s Starbucks location – you can order a Mickey cinnamon roll.5
This sizeable roll (or rather, three rolls in one!) is perfectly swirled with cinnamon and drizzled in deliciously sweet icing. During certain seasons, the frosting might reflect the holiday spirit, like pumpkin orange stripes for the spooky season and bright red and green for Christmas!
Paired with a cup of coffee, this cinnamon roll is not only the ultimate Mickey shaped food experience, it’s also a great shot for your Instagram feed.
Additionally, you can usually find some Mickey-shaped cookies and cupcakes, here, too! With decorative icing, these round-eared desserts always spark a smile and always pair well with a cup of joe!
8. Mickey Shaped Cake Pops
Now, the most magical desserts are those that are gooey and chewy and dare I say, slightly underdone. Achieving it while baking is truly an art form.
Cake pops are the pinnacle of this art form, and when made in the shape of Mickey – well, we’re talking off-the-charts magicality quotient, here!
Mickey cake pops come in a variety of flavors – vanilla, chocolate, and decadent red velvet. Coated in chocolate and drizzled with white chocolate stripes (or vice versa), it’s a wonderful combination of sweetness and textures.
Snap! Then chewy goodness.
This Mickey shaped sweet can be found just about anywhere you see Disney desserts, including the Main Street Confectionary.6
If I were you, I’d grab a few to take home. Unlike Mickey ice cream bars, they’ll be okay for the drive back! (I think they’re equally awesome for an adorable photo-op, too!)
There’s even more Mickey shaped food to be enjoyed outside of the Magic Kingdom – from Disney’s resorts and hotels to Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, and even Disney Springs! There’s Mickey shaped pasta, Mickey cucumbers in salads, Mickey beignets…let’s just say you’ll be able to find your favorite mouse – in edible format – just about everywhere!
While Mickey shaped food is, inevitably, a bit pricey, we think the magicality quotient makes it worth the cost! Why have boring, old funnel cake when you can have it in the shape of Mickey Mouse??
With so much to try, your Mickey shaped snack scavenger hunt might need to span a couple of days – or even a couple of vacations! I think it sounds like a good excuse to go to Disney World a few times, *wink.*
