Girls Disney Weekend: 10 Great Tips for Girls That Just Wanna Have Fun!
Disney World is not just a great destination for a family vacation with little ones. It’s also a super fun getaway for a girl’s weekend. Whether you’re looking at having a bachelorette party, a mommy’s getaway with girlfriends, or a single girl best friend’s trip, Disney is the perfect spot for your adventure. Luckily there are plenty of great things for adults to do here, so let’s get ready to bring out the kid in all of us. No matter what you decide, you’re bound to have a magical girls’ weekend at Disney! Here is our guide and tips for planning the best girls’ Disney weekend!
Plan and Plan Early! for your Girls Disney Weekend
The first big hurdle to get through in planning your Disneyfied girls’ weekend is getting everyone’s buy-in. How many girls will be joining? What days work best for everyone’s schedule? One of the best ways to get everyone’s input without receiving a hundred text message notifications is to send out a Google Sheet survey allowing each lady to fill out the best dates available for them and a comfortable budget. Once you figure out how many ladies are going, the date, and an agreeable budget, you can start researching everything. The earlier you plan and book, the more opportunities you have to eat where you want and experience what you want!
Set up Disney+ Experience Accounts
If you haven’t been to Disney in a while, or ever, then this may be news to you. My Disney Experience is your ultimate planner and guide for planning your dream Disney trip. Have each girl create an account and set up her profile. My Disney Experience is kind of like your passport for Disney; your tickets will be here, you’ll make reservations and manage your entire vacation through this portal. There’s also an app for your smartphone, so be sure to download that, so everyone is synced!
Pick a Park…any Park!
So many places to see and so little time. Just being honest, you really want to limit your parks to one a day. One, because there are so many things to see and do in each park you don’t want to be rushed. Two, you pay for a park pass per day, so you definitely want to get your money’s worth out of your park experience.
Survey the girls’ desires for the trip – are they more interested in thrilling rides, classic Disney rides, walking and taking in the sights, eating and drinking, live entertainment, etc. This will help determine which parks you want to explore on your weekend! Here’s a list of all the parks if you need a refresher. PS Parkhopper options are available. However, we suggest keeping it simple with one park per day, plus you can save money which can go towards better dining options or other fun activities.
Pick the Perfect Hotel for your Girls Disney Weekend
While the Disney parks are the main draw of Disney, where you stay is the icing on the cake. It can really set the tone for your magical experience! There are over 33 places to stay in Disney – yup, 33! While that sounds super overwhelming, that means there’s an option for every preference and every budget. Do you want something basic but comfy? Do you want to feel like you’ve been whisked away to an animal safari in Africa? Do you want all the beautiful pools and tropical vibes? Discover the perfect Disney hotel for you and your girls by checking out the entire list of options.
Eat All the Food
Disney has so many yummy things to eat! From the Mickey Mouse ice cream, Dole Whips, Mouse waffles to fine dining, theme dining, and basically everything in between, so you and the girls will not go hungry while on your getaway. However, if you have your heart set on a particular restaurant or spot, book it fast. Reservations for restaurants open 180 days in advance of your trip. Pick 2 or 3 spots you’re dying to try and book your reservations and leave room for spontaneity for the rest of your meals. Book your reservations through your Disney Experience app and find all your options here.
Rides & Lines – Bypass Them with Fast Pass
Feeling the need for speed?! Or maybe just a good float down “It’s a Small World”? Well, you can book a “Fast Pass” ticket to gain quicker entry to those rides! Fast Pass reservations open 60 days prior, so take a poll of which rides your girls want to experience and pick those slots accordingly.
Get Some Mouse Swag for your Girls Disney Weekend
You’ve got to have the matching gear when you’re on a girl’s trip to Disney! We’re talking about the ears, the shirts, the fanny packs, the buttons, the sunglasses – you can’t go wrong with any of the cute options we have listed below, so stock up and look oh so fabulous on your Disney trip.
Sipping Through the World (of Disney)
Did someone say rosé all day? Grab your girl gang and sip your way through the world, Disney World, that is. There are so many places you can enjoy a wine flight and savor the different flavors of the world – from a glass in Morocco at the Spice Road Table to a wine tasting at the Jiko Wine Lounge at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wine Bar George in Disney Springs, to Les Vins de France in EPCOT. There are so many wonderful wines and countries to experience as you sip through Disney.
Taste of Epcot -Food & Wine Festival
If you and your gang are foodies, then you’ll want to consider going to the Food and Wine Festival in EPCOT. Every year it’s a beautiful showcase of all the delicious and yummy food and drinks from around the world. The festival happens once or twice a year, so check out EPCOT’s website for details. You definitely won’t leave hungry (or thirsty) after that girls Disney weekend!
Unwind and Relax During your Girls Disney Weekend
While Disney is a lot of go-go-go and trying to get in all the rides and all the parks, there are also spots to relax and unwind. Yup – we’re talking about a Disney spa experience! What woman doesn’t love to soak her cares away in a luxurious spa pool or ease those tight shoulders from a massage? Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa offer various spa packages to make your girls Disney weekend relaxing!
We hope this helps inspire you to take that girls Disney weekend trip you’ve been wanting to take but haven’t gotten around to planning. You know, no matter the age, we’re all just kids at heart, and there is something so fun and magical about Disney. It truly is the “Happiest Place on Earth,” so why not take your best gal pals and enjoy a little of that magic. Whether you want to nosh and sip, adventure, ride all the rides, or unwind and relax for a change, Disney has all the things that will make your girls Disney weekend the most memorable weekend ever. Happy travels, friends!
