Experience the Magic: Your 2023 Guide to the Fireworks Dessert Party at The Magic Kingdom!
Did you know Disney offers a way to enjoy the nightly fireworks show from a reserved seat? This sweet event is open for all guests to enjoy (via reservation) and can be a great way to wrap up a fantastic day at the Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World. Here is everything you need to know about the Magic Kingdom’s Fireworks Dessert Party to decide if it’s worth the splurge for your family!
Dessert Party Favors
Before we dive into the details of the party, let’s cover the essentials – like what exactly you’ll be getting as part of the dessert party experience. You will have buffet-style access to all sorts of sweet treats crafted by Disney’s pastry chefs and chocolatiers. These desserts include cakes, chocolate-dipped strawberries, butterscotch pudding, assorted cookies, and lots more!
The experience also includes well-paired savory options, including a variety of cheeses. Drinks are served with the desserts, and an assortment of beer and wine is available to choose from. Disney also offers a great selection of non-alcoholic beverages, multiple varieties of lemonade, and coffee for all guests.
Aside from the delicious food, a significant perk of the dessert party is optimal firework viewing. Instead of being pushed around in the sweaty crowds in front of the castle, you and your family can enjoy the show from the reserved dessert party viewing area. This means you are guaranteed to have a great view of the castle projections and overhead fireworks!

No Admittance Except on Party Business!
You need dessert party reservations to join this sweet celebration, but thankfully it’s easy to make those reservations through Disney’s website or the My Disney Experience App on your phone. The dessert party can be found in the same area as other dining reservations, and many of the same rules for reservations apply. This means reservations open up 60 days in advance of the date!
Reservations typically fill up before the day of the event, but during slower times of the year, walk-up reservations can sometimes be found. In general, the earlier you make a reservation, the better! You can always go back and cancel a reservation with no penalty (as long as you do it more than 2 hours before the event) if your plans change.

Your Perfect Magic Kingdom Itinerary: Tips to Maximize Your Adventure!
Get ready for an enchanting adventure that will transport you to a world of magic and wonder! The Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World is the ultimate destination for those seeking a truly unforgettable experience. From the iconic Cinderella’s Castle to the classic rides and attractions, there’s something for everyone in this park. With our Magic Kingdom itinerary, you’ll be able to navigate the park like a pro.
Additional Details and Cost
The price of the experience is currently $114 per adult and $69 per child, with tax included. These prices tend to fluctuate a little bit but always stay within the $110 ballpark. On the day of the event, you can check in for your party reservation at the Tomorrowland Terrace an hour before the fireworks are scheduled to start. The Tomorrowland Terrace is an outdoor but covered area between the Main Street hub and Tomorrowland. Once you check in, you can spend the hour relaxing and indulging in the amazing treats and drinks!
Since the dessert party is in the Magic Kingdom park itself, all of Disney’s general park ticketing and reservation rules apply. That means you’ll have to use your park day ticket to get into the park in the first place and will need a park reservation (or park hopper) for the Magic Kingdom for the day of your event.
In the event of a weather cancellation for fireworks, Disney will not refund the price of your experience. You’ll still be able to snack on all of the fantastic desserts, but you’ll miss out on the fireworks-watching experience. Don’t be too worried about this, though: fireworks are very rarely canceled and are only sometimes delayed due to rain or lightning. You can always keep an eye on the weather for heavy rain or lightning within 10 miles of the Walt Disney World Resort to determine if the fireworks show could be delayed.
Fireworks in the Sky
Since such a big part of the dessert party is the preferred viewing, you should know a thing or two about the show you will be watching! For the past year, Disney has been dazzling guests with a 50th-anniversary celebration fireworks show called “Disney Enchantment.” However, a previous fan favorite, the “Happily Ever After” show, will take over performances starting on April 3rd, 2023.
With the return of “Happily Ever After,” dessert party reservations are sure to fill up quickly, so if you are visiting in the near future and want in on the party, be sure to reserve your spot as soon as possible!
Regardless of the show, the viewing area from Tomorrowland Terrace is excellent. It’s slightly off-center, but offers a clear view of the castle and the fireworks. Since it’s a reserved area, you won’t have to worry about tall people putting their kids on their shoulders and blocking your view (a common frustration we have while visiting the parks)! Both nighttime spectaculars combine classic Disney music with projections and lighting effects on the castle and fireworks in the sky.
Fireworks Dessert Party Summary – Is It Worth the Price?
Yes, we think the Magic Kingdom’s Fireworks Dessert Party is absolutely worth it! If you have room in your budget for a nice experience, the Magic Kingdom fireworks dessert party is definitely one you should consider splurging on. It saves you a ton of stress trying to find a spot in the crowds around Main Street, always allows for a great view of the show (particularly for kids who might get stuck behind others in regular viewing areas), and the desserts are truly delectable.
Overall, partaking in the dessert party is a fantastic way to relax at the end of a long day in Magic Kingdom and enjoy the evening show exactly how it was meant to be seen. To get the most bang for your buck, we recommend visitors eat a somewhat early dinner in the park to ensure they save room for all of the amazing treats offered at the dessert party!
