Perhaps it’s not such a stretch – after all, Disney is known as the happiest place on earth. And you’ll definitely be happy knowing your canine family members are welcome here! While not every Disney resort is dog-friendly, there are select hotels, experiences, and places that welcome your furry friend.
Without further ado, here are some of the best dog-friendly spots at Disney!
Dog-Friendly Places to Stay at Disney World
Disney has an ongoing pet-friendly pilot program at four select hotels where furry friends are allowed to join their humans on a family vacation.
Not only will you have a unique and magical experience, but your pet will have a super fun time and be totally spoiled, too!
At every pet-friendly Disney resort, your dog will be treated to a Pluto’s Welcome Kit. This adorable kit includes a mat, doggy bowls, a pet ID tag, bags (for cleaning up messes), puppy pads, a map for dog walking areas, and a Pluto sign to notify staff that a very adorable dog is present in the room.1
(If your dog is well-behaved, then he or she can be left unattended in the room with the Pluto door hanger on the knob.)
When it’s time for your pup to go out, there are specific potty areas at each resort, as marked on your complimentary welcome map. Disney has made it easy-breezy to bring along your fur baby!
1. The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort
If you’re looking for a spot to bring your dog that combines the magic of Disney and the fun of dog-friendly camping, then this is your spot! The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort welcome up to two dogs of any size for only an additional $5 per night in the campsites (or $50 per night for a cabin stay).2 The dog-friendly cabin spaces are limited, so make sure to call and mention you’d like to bring your dog when you book the reservation!
All loops have been designated pet-friendly for exercise, and there’s even the Waggin’ Trails Dog Park for lots of furry fun!
2. Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
At Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, you are welcome to bring up to two 75-lb dogs with you on your visit for an additional $75 per night. There are only 10 designated dog-friendly rooms within the resort, so make sure to reserve a room and ask about those dog-friendly accommodations as soon as possible! (Note: the only rooms that allow dogs are garden-view and water-view rooms which offer easy access to outdoor areas and walking areas.)
3. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
For an additional $50 per night, you can bring up to two dogs of any size to this dog-friendly resort. Some specific floors and rooms are designated for dog owners, so make sure you mention that in your booking so they can pre-assign you to those special rooms. (Designated rooms help protect other guests who may have allergies.)
4. Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
At Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Riverside, up to two canines are welcome to join you on your stay for an additional $50 per night. After making your reservation, be sure to call the reservation line and ask to be assigned to a dog-friendly room.
As a general rule for any of these resorts, don’t forget to bring proof of vaccination, as all dogs must have verification of recent vaccines in order to be guests.
At Port Orleans, only standard-view and garden-view rooms are pet-friendly, but they also offer direct access to outdoor areas for your pooch!
