Everyone knows Disney’s Boo Bash is the best chance to show off your best Halloween costume ideas right inside Disney parks. There are so many possibilities, it’s hard to start narrowing down your list of costume ideas for Disney’s Boo Bash.
Personally, we like to draw inspiration from Disney parks themselves. It lets you take advantage of your surroundings to create costumes you couldn’t get away with anywhere else. These Boo Bash costume ideas emulate some of the most iconic parts of the most magical place on earth!
Wear Your Favorite Character on a Playing Card
Dressing up as your favorite Disney character is always a great choice. But have you considered putting your favorite character on a playing card? This unique twist on a classic costume idea pays homage to Alice in Wonderland along with whatever character you choose.
Just cut out felt rectangles or find 2 large pieces of poster board and secure them together with straps over your shoulders. Then use markers, paints, or glued-on cutouts to complete the look. A few of our favorite ideas include Simba or Mufasa on a King card, Maleficent on a Queen card, or Flynn Rider on the Joker card. But the possibilities are endless!
PeopleMover Cones
This cheeky homage to the iconic PeopleMover attraction makes for a great group costume. Just iron letters onto blank t-shirts and don a cone hat to complete the look! It’s quirky, instantly recognizable, and takes advantage of spending Halloween at Disney.
Glow Cube
Mimic the look of the iconic glow cubes that come in drinks all over Disney parks. Just put on a transparent or thin-colored rain poncho, then cover yourself in glow sticks to give yourself a luminescent quality. If you want to dress up as a specific glow cube, you can use dark-colored paint to draw a design onto the poncho. The glow sticks will shine through the rest of your poncho, illuminating your way all through Boo Bash.
Pressed Penny

Just about every Disney fan has a pressed penny collection from their adventures around the parks. Emulate this favorite souvenir by dressing all in gold or bronze-color clothes (bonus points if it’s metallic fabric). Then use a fabric pen, Sharpie, or fabric paint to draw on a stretched image of your favorite pressed penny design. Make it your own!
If you want to really commit to the monochromatic look, consider using gold or bronze face paint or temporary bronze hair dye.
Character Silhouette
Dress all in black, then use a bleach pen to draw your favorite character’s silhouette to mimic the iconic souvenir silhouette portraits available at the Epcot World Showcase, Disney Springs, and Magic Kingdom.
Dole Whip
There are few Disney treats more iconic than Dole Whip. You’ll probably grab one while you’re there, so why not dress up like one?
This works best if you have long blonde hair (or a wig). Tease your hair into a tall, voluminous, twisting up-do to mimic the swirl on a Dole Whip soft-serve. This works with red-heads or other hair colors, too – just say you’re a different flavor of the classic dessert! You can even use temporary hair-dye or tinted hairspray to match your favorite flavor – lime, mango, orange, raspberry, strawberry, or a seasonal flavor. It’s all fair game!
Don’t forget to complete the look by dressing up as your favorite cup. You can’t go wrong with head-to-toe lemony yellow to match the classic Dole Whip float, or tan to look like a cone. Or pick your favorite – red-and-white Minnie polka dots or red with 2 of Mickey’s iconic yellow buttons.
Poison Candied Apple
We love this idea because it’s a two-for-one – you’re honoring delicious Disney treats and the classic poisoned apple from Snow White. It’s also a simple one. Wear puffy golden-brown pants (sweatpants will work) to mimic the crumbled topping on the bottom, a bright red shirt, and a headband with a brown stem sticking straight up. (Brunettes can use their own hair and hair product to get the look without a headband.)
Honor the EPCOT Spaceship Earth by Decking Out in Head-to-Toe Disco Glam
You can find EPCOT Spaceship Earth patterned clothes online (like this shirt or this dress), but we love the idea of going all-out with the accessories to fully commit to the look. Pop a fluffy petticoat underneath your skirt to create a round shape. Bedazzle your mask and pair it with a sparkling headband. And don’t be shy about adding some body glitter or highlighter to make you shine bright like a diamond.
Become a Life-Sized EPCOT World Showcase Passport
Don as much leather as you can find – bonus points if you have cowboy boots to complete the ensemble. Wear your EPCOT button, then safety-pin pictures of different EPCOT sites onto your lapels. You can even use stickers from your actual EPCOT World Showcase passport to complete the look (pop one sticker on each cheek for a super cute accent).
Life-Sized Plushie
This is best with cuddly characters like Winnie the Pooh, but you can do it with any character that comes in a plushie and has an easily recognizable outfit.
