Seuss Landing is a place where both your inner child and actual children can have a blast! In our first and second Seussical installments, we looked at the different rides around Seuss Landing at Universal Orlando and spilled the tea on Sneetch drama.
Today, we’re going to give you a sneak peek into all of the wubbulous cafes and shops situated around the Landing at Universals Islands of Adventure so you can plan your dining and merch collecting before you ever set foot in Universal Orlando! Or, in the true Seussical spirit, you can always plan to try all of the places!
You don’t know if you’ll like them, you say? Try them, try them, and you may!
Seuss Landing Snacks: Salty, Sweet, and Always a Treat!
Seuss Landing is home to some of Universal Studios’ most colorful dining experiences. Check out one or all of these fun eateries – they’ve got everything from specialty sweets, themed lunches, and bubbulous drinks!
Green Eggs and Ham
Sam-I-Am is the head chef at this green, ham-shaped establishment!
Eggs (green or otherwise) and ham definitely sounds like a breakfast dish, and nothing compliments breakfast more than tater tots! That’s why at Green Eggs and Ham, all four savory options are served over a bed of hot tots. (The rhyme-ability of the word “tot” might also have influenced the culinary choice, but we can’t say for sure.)
Of course, the signature dish here is the titular green eggs and ham! Delicious diced ham and scrambled eggs (that are actually green thanks to an herb mix) are severed atop tots and drizzled in a melty, white cheese sauce. Not only is it tasty, but now you can finally cross off item #1 from your childhood bucket list!
Now to eat them with a fox, or eat them standing in a box. . .
Another dish worth mentioning here is the Who Hash, which is a mixture of tots, corned beef, chives, and cheese sauce. But the extra-special part of the dish is that it’s served in a souvenir Who Hash can that’s totally worth fangirling over. We guarantee it’ll be the most whimsical pencil holder in the office or a super cute trinket-keeper once you’re back home! (Note: the Who Hash is a bit pricey for the amount of food you get, but if you love the way Boris Karloff says “Who Hash” in How the Grinch Stole Christmas as much as I do, then it’s worth it!)
Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous
Although we covered Circus McGurkus in a previous article, we still wanted to make sure it was on our master list of Seussical restaurants! Plus, it’s so yummy, we really don’t mind going again.
Here, you can experience the Trolley Train sailing above you as you chow down on classics like bacon cheeseburgers, cheesy pizza, and fried chicken. It’s also a great place to get a cold soft drink on those hot Florida days! There are over 100 flavor combinations to choose from with the nifty Coca-Cola Freestyle machine. . .I wonder if it was built by Sylvester McMonkey McBean??
Hop on Pop Ice Cream Shop
The Hop on Pop Ice Cream Shop is your one-stop spot for sweets that go plop! (Although we hope you don’t drop your dessert. That would be tragic.)
Here, you can get a decadent chocolate brownie dolloped with vanilla ice cream and drizzled in hot fudge or caramel, served up sundae style in a waffle cone bowl. To top it all off, there’s a swirl of whipped cream and a shiny red cherry.
If you want something a little more portable, you can also opt for a vanilla ice cream bar hand-dipped in chocolate and topped with your choice of rainbow sprinkles, nuts, caramel, fudge, or all of the above!
All of that sugar is sure to make you hoppy!
Moose Juice, Goose Juice
In Dr. Seuss’s Sleep Book, a moose and a goose are snuggly tucked into bed, dreaming about their own kinds of juice. Their dream has become a reality with the Moose Juice, Goose Juice (Sweets, Treats, and Drinks) shop in Seuss Landing!
Here you can find classic fair food like salty, soft pretzels (with cheese, if you please), corny corndogs, and jumbo-tastic chocolate chip cookies! Moose’s and Goose’s is a great place to stop if you just need a light snack – they have you covered whether your craving is salty or sweet!
Of course, you can actually get some Moose Juice (a frozen orange drink) or some Goose Juice (frozen green apple) while you’re there. Not only that, but McMonkey McBean seems to have installed a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine here, too! The only thing better than some fizzy pop (or hopping on pop) is slurping on a cold ICEE – and luckily, Moose and Goose serve those as well.
With a full tummy, you may feel like tucking into bed right alongside Moose and Goose!
